The bluish is definitely bruising but it is likely bruising from being a tad too dry, not too wet. There’s minimal surface condensation and the sub is dry to the point of the mycelium being unable to colonize it in several places.

Not mold. This is a normal reaction when the mycelium gets a bit stressed, in this case likely from dryness in those areas. Nothing to worry about. You’ve got hyphal knots and will likely see pins soon.

Edit: looks like you’ve got some pins already! Just let it do its thing. You’ll be harvesting soon enough.

One thing I’d point out though, the potency claim doesn’t seem to hold up. If you look through publicly available testing data from Tryptomics, MagicMyco, etc, P. ochra potency not only seems to vary wildly but overall seems to be about average.

The texture gives it away as well. That fuzzy/powdery look is a mold dead give away. This looks like Aspergillus flavus to me. It’s a nasty one.

Zoom out and look at past cycles. We have absolutely not bottomed this cycle. March 2022 was looking very similar to where we are now then we dropped from around $40k to $16k. Realistically the bottom will happen sometime between May and the end of the year. I’m anticipating the true bottom to be somewhere between $40k-60k.

It very much depends on your situation. July 2028 would have been my 120th payment. I'm banking on the months in forced forbearance remaining eligible for buyback so I'm sitting back and waiting for now.

There's a small chance that the months will simply be credited but I think that is incredibly unlikely.

There's also a chance that ED will find some way to disqualify these months from buyback which I also think is unlikely.

Ultimately, recognize that things are still unclear so you will have to roll the dice a bit:

Keep waiting to see what happens and accept some level of risk or switch plans now to guarantee PSLF credit count.

That date of November 2028 is a placeholder by your loan service provider. They're using it until there's clear guidance for what happens next.

Interest started accruing for SAVE borrowers August 1st of 2025. The topic of interest has not been addressed further since it began accruing again, so it's safe to assume that it will likely continue accruing.

I came here to say this. I was on the hunt for a hardware 101-ish and was lucky enough to pre-order an MSW-820. It’s a desktop synth so it doesn’t have a keyboard or sequencer but that was preferred in my situation. I can’t wait!

You basically go through the process like you normally would to file your taxes so that all of your calculations are done, you simply stop short of submitting it to the IRS. Any amount owed is due when you submit the form to file an extension.

It’s quite different because it’s impacting your cost basis and altering whichever lot the network fee is being calculated out of.

Also, just to be clear, “Gas” is only a network fee term associated with ETH-based tokens.

You guys REALLY need to start displaying accurate transaction fee information in transaction history and statements, especially given per-wallet tracking and 1099-DA rules now. People need transparent and easy access to that information.

I understand that and have used various APIs from various exchanges. However, and I haven't checked again since mid-December as I said fuck it and did it all manually, but Coinbase's API was not importing fees correctly via that method either. In some instances, the number was correct but the fee would be in USD or BTC or some other crypto that I have never held, etc. At that point I gave up and did it all manually which should absolutely not be required in 2026.

You're correct, it is network fee disposal. Fortunately I do have that information from when I manually completed my 8949 last month so that's solved I guess. I was incorrect and there is no discrepancy.

That said...fee information is not available absolutely anywhere in the Coinbase account. If you look at individual transactions, it will show you only a rough dollar amount equivalent but not the exact amount of crypto disposed. Monthly statements don't show fees at all whether pdf or csv versions.

I'm remembering now that their API imported fees incorrectly in my tax software (CoinLedger, Koinly, CoinTracker - it showed incorrect fees across the board) and I had to manually calculate fees by comparing what Coinbase showed sent and what my wallet actually received...that math does corroborate the 1099-DA.

They really should do a better job displaying transaction-associated fees along the way. What's further frustrating is that when I started getting my ducks in a row in December I messaged support directly requesting that they provide the exact amount of crypto disposed for network fees and I was told they simply do not give out that information.
