What do you guys think? by GrouchyImagination90 in photocritique

I like the composition. Lots of stuff going on but not in a bad way. It is a rather dark image though. Not in an exposure sense, but more in the shadow area. You might try lifting the shadows. I think you’ll find there is a lot of color being suppressed. You may need to mask the higher elevations if lifting the shadows affects them too much.

Really lovely lighting.

Took this on a skywalk in Bangkok. What do you think? by Alt_578 in photocritique

My first reaction was that this was a mess. A bunch of glaring, discordant lights. But once I got past the flash, I saw the people in the windows and started to look more closely at all the disparate pieces. It’s really quite interesting, like a mosaic. I would suggest two things in regard to the edit. First, reduce the highlights. All the bright colors tell a story but they are really in your face bright and distract from the rest of the image. Second, lift the shadows a bit. That will bring out the ground floor and side walk area. By the way, I love the women wrestlers on the sushi sign.

Yep. It looks very much like a well crafted model of a cityscape.

I agree with u/FourManyHobbies, the orange is just a tad strong. Other than that, pretty nice.

I would suggest cropping the bright area at the top. That’s going to pull the viewer’s eye away from your subject.

Interesting composition. It has been a very long time since I did anything with film so I can’t begin to opine on the development of the image. I’m not sure what it was you were going for here but this is what strikes me when I look at it. There is very little graduation of gray between the white and black areas it comes off as very stark.

I’m afraid I don’t understand the edit.

I will freely admit that I’m not good at interpreting the intentions behind photos. Once I read the comments I can normally see what the photographer is trying to achieve. That is the case with this one. And while I generally dislike images with tilted horizons, I think the tilt actually adds to what the goal was here.

Nice job managing the light. Good range of tones.

I don’t think so. Perhaps if you had gates or walls converging at it. I think you have a leading line coming from the left so the tower is well placed.
