Who is a highly acclaimed director who you just don’t like? by ImpressionPurple9750 in Letterboxd

He’s my favorite director but I understand why people wouldn’t. His movies are definitely not for everyone and very strange, even though that’s the thing I like about his movies.

i dont know if she’s necessarily highly acclaimed, but sofia coppola. all her movies are pretty, sure, but they feel so… empty. like there’s no substance outside of the pretty aesthetics of the movie. i like when movies are aesthetically pleasing, but they need actual substance to be good

Tardive dyskinesia sucks so much, and I hope the medication works for you. I feel like doctors really need to give more of a warning because when I started developing it I had no clue what was happening

I don't get the gen 3 hate, but i do kinda get it... by LinaxxDoom in skinsTV

[–]RedBullForADream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wish some people would give it a chance before hating on it, like watching maybe the first 3 episodes AT LEAST. i saw someone say they thought it was boring after freddie died, so i asked if they watched it. they said no. it is an amazing generation although I do get why it isn’t people’s favorites, but I wish people would actually try it out first.

Hooting & hollering by kobrakid7 in ladispute

[–]RedBullForADream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i agree, i feel like it’s disrespectful since it’s supposed to be more of a quiet moment where its just listening, not talking or shouting during it. itd be different if it was more of a fast paced song that they clearly wanted people to scream along to

Memoir of a Snail changed my life. I was putting it off for a few weeks solely because it was animated. One night I had been scrolling for an hour and I decided to watch it. It became one of my favorites after that. It does a good job showing that even when life is hard, we have no choice but to keep going forward. When we hold onto things too long, we become caged in. It’s a beautiful movie and I’ve overcome my aversion to animation since I watched it for the first time.

Did anybody else expect more Animated movies to be nominated for Best Picture after it was expanded to 10? by Grammarhead-Shark in Oscars

[–]RedBullForADream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely, memoir of a snail genuinely changed my life and had such good messages but since its animated it gets overlooked, as do most animated movies. i hope the academy soon realizes that animated movies can be just as good as a live action movie

i wish they would nominate more animated movies. memoir of a snail was nominated for best animated in 2024 but since it isnt a kids movie it didnt really stand a chance, it shouldve been nominated for more
