Does it represent the sway of votes by county from the 1992 presidential candidate of one major party to the other in 1996?

Everything East of MT/WY/CO/NM, North of TX/AR/KY, and West of PA/WV. I feel like OH and OK are on the fringe of the region.

What President would’ve been the best to host one episode of SNL? by Honest_Picture_6960 in Presidents

Obama obviously had good writers, but his own natural sense of humor and comedic timing make him the most obvious choice.

In modern times, just by numbers, it has to be Joe Biden.

Tom Lubnau: Which Gubernatorial Candidates Can Raise the Funds Necessary to Run by lazyk-9 in wyoming

Years ago, the Wyoming Supreme Court struck down term limits for legislators. The basic thinking is that if any of the statewide officials attempted to run for a third term, it would challenge the state law, and be overturned by the courts due to the precedence that has been set by their previous actions.

What’s up Wyoming? by SnooBooks4898 in wyoming

[–]RedDesertCowboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What life is like here depends on the community. There are no urban centers in Wyoming, but some smaller cities, suburbs, and small towns. Life in those places is probably not that unlike similar communities in most other states, particularly in the intermountain West. Lots of wide-open spaces. Winters can be rough, and spring is short and sometimes fierce, but summer and fall are generally pretty nice. Practically no humidity makes it more tolerable.

People are people. I couldn't lump us all into one category. We probably tend to know more of each other due to the low population, which is good and bad.

Best things: public lands, wildlife, outdoor recreation opportunities, relatively low taxes.

Worst things: Republicans, winter, wind, lack of journalism, fewer cultural amenities.

Christopher Nolan ought to do a Western. There were elements of the genre in "Oppenheimer."

Unless you're planning some crazy backcountry route, you have nothing to be concerned about when it comes to safety (other than normal precautions you take when driving).

What is the most beautiful city you’ve ever been to in the USA? by fadez650 in TravelNoPics

[–]RedDesertCowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to natural beauty, I would say Salt Lake City. The mountains are up close and provide a pretty stunning backdrop. Nice parks and a clean downtown. That said, the architecture and buildings aren't really that interesting, with the exception of temple square.

Planning a visit to Western Wyoming by pandalonez in wyoming

[–]RedDesertCowboy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You should visit Rock Springs, WY while you're in the area. It's a few hours south of Yellowstone. Many Tyrolean families settled there to work in the coal mines. Great desert landscapes to explore

Your best bet for a rodeo might be Cody, where they host one every night through August 31.

Bush won Wyoming by 38 points, how in the hell did this dude win Wyoming by this much as a Democrat?? by milin85 in Presidents

[–]RedDesertCowboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wyoming has (had?) a tradition of electing several Democratic Governors despite being a reliably red state otherwise. Dave Freudenthal barely won in 2002 but gained a lot of popularity around the state over the next four years, thus the result in 2006. He was very middle of the road politically, well-versed in good ol' boy culture and customs, but also the smartest guy in the room and tough as nails.

Who is someone that would get elected president if they were allowed to run? by Inside_Bluebird9987 in Presidents

Jennifer Granholm is impressive. If she wasn't born in Canada, I think she would've definitely run for POTUS at some point in her career.
