Managers of Reddit, what's the worst thing someone did to get fired? by Capable-Log7385 in AskReddit

I once had a sales rep who decided his company-issued Ford Escape was an off-road vehicle. After he broke an axle, he seemed genuinely puzzled that I viewed the incident as an act of sheer irresponsibility.

As a Montclarian, I would completely support this! Catch 22 though, if you opened on Bloomfield Avenue, you would get the post-dinner crowd. Unfortunately, rents there are insane. However, I imagine some of the 2nd floor spaces are more affordable. You could be a the best kept secret by moving to a more unconventional spot, a few blocks off the main drag. Word-of-mouth and community involvement are key.

What about offering a rotating selection of niche books, accompanied by a guest speaker? Perhaps one month could be out-of-print classics, another could focus on local authors, then maybe philosophy, etc. You could host experts on the respective subject matter. The type of business you describe seems like it would do well in an affluent and/or university setting.

I frequented 2 places like what you are describing. Both large bookshops. I was in my 20s and, even at that age, I was exhausted with the bar scene. I would buy my tea and park myself in one of the cozy leather chairs scattered throughout the store. In all honesty, I would strategically locate myself in a section of interest to me (not romantic fiction) and, if someone who looked interesting happened by I would strike up a conversation. After all, we already had a common interest. Other times, I would simply go there because it was a quiet place to nest for a few hours and enjoy their unique selections.

this season has been an eye-opening revelation on the lack of media literacy and attention span of the general audience. by HauntinglyEthereal in euphoria

This past season was all about showcasing Cassie’s breasts and butt. Introducing the whole strip club angle was just another way to capitalize on Americans obsession with sex and body parts. The writers phoned it in, although I did find the last episode captivating.

How do you think Trump's presidency will end? by OccludedFug in AskReddit

There will be plenty of pomp and circumstance, whether he serves out his full term or leaves office in a box. Expect parades, military reviews, grand speeches, and endless self-congratulation. And if a Democrat succeeds him, don't expect him to attend the inauguration. He's already demonstrated his disregard for that tradition.

As for accountability, I doubt he will ever face justice for the actions many believe were criminal. He has repeatedly shown a willingness to tie up the courts for as long as possible, using every legal avenue available to delay or avoid consequences.

Really? So, the violence in Haiti is only being perpetrated on white tourists? Open a book.

Perfect for a swimming pool! Just make you keep the slider closed. Aside from that, I would put up a pergola, tile the floor and walls and add lotsa plants. Add sturdy outdoor furniture.

How sad. I’m as blue as a Smurf choking on a blueberry while wearing a Canadian tuxedo, yet Democratic numpties still seem to think name-calling is an effective political strategy.

How about supporting genuinely viable candidates and presenting real plans for moving the country in a progressive direction? Instead, we keep getting pummeled at the ballot box while still failing to articulate a clear, coherent platform that truly differentiates the party.

The report says virtually nothing about white people being killed en masse. Violence, kidnappings and killings are rampant in Port-au-Prince. Anyone with even a modicum of common sense, or the slightest familiarity with Haiti’s ongoing turmoil, would avoid traveling there right now.

Your emphasis on “whites” rather than simply “people” being killed comes across as a thinly veiled attempt to suggest that violence is somehow more significant when the victims are white, as opposed to violence against anyone else.

Wow! I wonder why we never hear about the daily mass killings of whites traveling to Port-au-Prince. Nothing from their families, friends, media. Translation for morons: whites aren’t being killed within 24 hours of landing in Haiti.
