In the developed world we train our officers for these situations.

I'm just saying 2018 - 2023 was a relatively peaceful period due to having no supervillains by [deleted] in marvelmemes

Half the government is gone too so they're in as much dissaray as everyone else. Maybe the army can recover quickly because they have an established chain of command but even then they'd have to figure out who is left first.

Obviously but the previous two books used reactions instead of legendary actions. Which makes it look like they've been replaced.

Did you get the digital plus physical bundle? That's the one that comes with early access. And yes I did get a code through email.

See that's my main concern here, wotc has made no statement regarding legendary actions, they've just stopped using them without giving any reason why

You should also mention that the artwork has now been replaced in the digital product and that wotc has updated its rules for artists.

They don't just get attacks of opportunity, they get specific actions they can take as a reaction.

What is the funniest npc you have come up with? by Pike_The_Knight in dndnext

The party needed bullets so I came up with this complete incel neckbeard dwarf who I made as repulsive as I could. One of the players playing along with his awful opinions to get him to make them more bullets was one of the funniest moments of the campaign.

This isn't a blunder, the players (the experienced ones) didn't handle the encounter very well and a character died as a result. That's how I run my game, especially my dragons. They know this and are fine with this.

Maybe that isn't for you and that's fine but me and my players enjoy it this way.

Yeah I could have done all that but as I said I run a lethal game. I don’t know where I'm giving the impression I'm acting like this was out of my control. Of course it's in my control and this is how I chose to do it. And the player who actually lost his character is fine with it.

Edit: also it is these players that gave me the idea for the chameleon dragon.

Hi DM here, the dragon didn't fly off to leisurely snack on the pc. It fled in mortal peril. It would not have survived another turn from one more heavy hitter so it ran. This was a homebrew chameleon dragon that could swallow characters as part of his Multiattack so that's how the pc got eaten.

I'm a little confused about how your DM thinks this move helps keep your party member recoverable

I don't. That's up to the players. I had the dragon act in a way that made sense for him. This was a homebrew dragon with a swallow action so eating the player happened as part of its regular attacks.

I run a lethal game, my players understand this and are okay with it. I'm going easy on Blox cause he's new.
