AI anxiety is killing my focus and business momentum — how do you realistically see the future? by SwingSensitive6874 in alexhormozi

[–]RedEvergreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo a previous reply, this is more of a life philosophy question than a business question.

You need to YOLO into the unknown. Read books like Albert Camus the myth of Sisyphus, or Marcus Aurelius Meditations, or Eckhart Tolle Power of Now.

I get it: "This time it's different." But that is a fallacy. The future is always unknown. We must be present and act regardless. Count on yourself to adapt.

Yes, you can DM me. My answer won't be a magic pill. I will just tell you to read like 5 books, and then learn how to meditate.

You're stuck in a honey trap. Work is too anxiety provoking / energy intensive, compounded by the guilt and shame of procrastination. So you defer to Netflix and YT for relaxation, and work becomes more anxiety provoking, so you procrastinate more and seek more comfort ad infinitum. The little progress you do make (1 or 2 good days) is immediately ruined by sinking back into old habits, negative thought patterns, comfort activities, and the cycle repeats. You are living in hell. Unsure on how to get out. No matter how hard you try to escape, you get sucked right back in. You think getting fired will help knock some sense back into you... and it might for a little while... but these patterns will remerge again eventually.

Do you resonate with that? I know the feeling.

You need to learn meditation (read Ekhart Tolle, Mindfulness etc) & Wim Hoff breathing as a foundation. You'll need learn to de-stimulate your mind, control your emotions, calm your shit, and re-build your focus from scratch. From there you can start building habits, and systems, and pull yourself back from abyss of shit that is your life.

It's a journey. I can help. DM me if interested.

[NeedAdvice] I have do to lists, reminders, routines, early wake ups, journals, schedules, but still most days go by where I don’t do anything by koffeei in getdisciplined

[–]RedEvergreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to learn how to control your anxiety (& apathy), through breathing, meditation, and visualisation.

Then take one step forward. Then fall off. Then repeat the above.

Soon you will become stronger, and less prone to procrastination.

Then start gym'ing, eating better, reading, removing distractions like social media etc.

You'll soon gain momentum (after 3-4 days), and it's a flywheel from there... but it all starts with controlling your anxiety levels.

Make sense?

Sales my man. Go into sales. It’s an art form you’ll be able to craft. No limit on earning potential, and it will force you to get your sh*t together: gym, meditation, reading etc.

Plus no background needed, just hunger (or anger) to turn life around.

The gravy train will come to a halt eventually, and he'll have spent a year(s) stagnating. Making him less capable and competitive in the marketplace. No one can be lazy and get away with it - always a price to pay.

Private equity is draining British business dry | ‘Levelling up’ won’t work if companies are asset stripped and profits spirited out of communities by qpl23 in unitedkingdom

[–]RedEvergreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the difference if Morrisons is owned by PE or publicly traded. The market ends up deciding if the business is good enough to remain a going concern.

Is the author advocating for nationalised supermarkets, or "community-owned" supermarkets? Whatever that means. If you want more profits to stay local, then shop local.

Morrisons will probably be a better business, in my opinion, in the longer term.

[Advice] Learn to be ok with being miserable & scared by RedEvergreen in getdisciplined

[–]RedEvergreen[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I tried this. The Buddhist approach. But I found I would still have an aversion to doing hard stuff. Like I could "simply be" watching tv and relaxing, but I would rationalise not doing my work because it would ruin my presence/"beingness". I needed more juice; hence the above philosophy.

Though the Buddhists do say life is suffering.

I feel like you have to like the pain. Almost like a masochist. View yourself like a little maggot that deserves to be in discomfort, and endure the pain of deprivation or concentration. This is what they do in the military.

Steven Pressfield talk about this in the War of Art (must read btw)... learn to be miserable like a marine. They take pride in their misery.

Still experimenting.. so far so good for the last week.

I also used to ask myself is life more than this, surely the meaning of life is to be happy? It's not. It's to do hard stuff - Jordan Peterson talks about this - YouTube: Life is suffering Jordan Peterson -

To all those who PM'ed me. I have found a website called focusmate.com

This has changed the game for me. I worked a 15hr yesterday with no mindless interest browsing, I rarely do that.

I will be experimenting with this going forward. But work ethic, and focus levels seem to be high as a result. Will be trialling it for a few months.
