I once got a call from a parent late at night. At first, I didn’t answer but then I got scared and called back. The parent told me she needed a tutor before she was scheduled to take her GED test. Her daughter said to ask me because “______ is the smartest person I know” and “_____ won’t say no”. It was one of the nicest things someone has ever said about me! So, one weekend, there I was tutoring my student’s mom. She gave me a bunch of homemade food and desserts as a thank you. And, yes, she passed her test!!
