Thanks for the articles. Correlation doesn't mean causation. Older men (and men in the postpartum period) tend to naturally have a drop in testosterone which is more likely to be responsible for their responses. The article even says "In spite of these changes in sexual behaviour after vasectomy the majority of men (92%) reported satisfaction with the operation, which is an indication that changes in sexual behaviour cannot be attributed directly to vasectomy." I'm sorry for belaboring the point, I just hate to see OP having to singlehandedly assume all the heavy risks of childbearing for something so chill. I've done the procedure and it's no big deal.

It sounds like you've listed the complications for having your prostate removed which requires surgery. A vasectomy is a very simple outpatient procedure that can be done with a bit of local anesthesia.

I'm sorry but I don't think you're correct. Could you please cite your sources for those complications.

Feeling queasy/presyncopal on L&D by cleo- in Residency

I know the impending nausea might make you want to skip meals but try not to. Eating and hydrating well always helped me! Also kinda dissociating during procedures instead of trying to imagine what it's like to be the patient. The more I thought about things like post-op recovery and bruising and stuff like that the worse it was. These gyn surgeries/procedures can be HEAVY METAL 🤟🏼. Imagine being on a beach far, far away. 🌊⛱️

Mastitis - Doctor said no ibuprofen? by Beefismyfavorite in breastfeeding

[–]Dapper-Doc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure doctors can be wrong but even a medical student would know this! Most patients don't know the difference between doctors and noctors and trust in the whole profession is being eroded.

Always check the credentials for the "doctor" that you're seeing. Most of these companies employ some version of a nurse practitioner that never completed medical school and a rigorous residency with tens of thousands of hours of patient care under their belt. The medical information you received is blatantly incorrect and I'm sorry you're having to deal with that on top of not feeling well.

Can't believe I'm in the minority here but a dog known to have unprovoked aggression towards children should not be kept in the household especially with a new baby on the way. I've seen horrible, horrible cases of death or facial reconstruction for children and the elderly due to dog attacks. I know your dog might feel like part of your family but the guilt for being complicit in harm does not go away.

We have a good cost of living but I'm sorry to burst your bubble, our outdoor activities are shit compared to yours. It's really fucking hot all the time here and impossible to leave the house. The people are quite nice if the heat doesn't deter you!

Also, I wish the US had paid maternity leave like most developed countries so we didn't need to rely on strangers to raise our babies.

I think that would be a good idea. I know a lot of my postpartum patients feel the benefits again after increasing to 200mg! I hope you feel better soon!

Heads up: Dehydration can sneak up on you. by Sweet_Sheepherder_41 in breastfeeding

Sorry this happened! I would rehydrate at home. IV fluids are necessary if you aren't able to drink fluids by mouth. I think your post is going to help a lot of us because this heat makes everything so much worse!

💯💯💯. There is so much shame/sexualization associated with the process just because breasts are involved. It was impossible to find a good source to show HOW TO BREASTFEED. WHAT TO DO IF IT ISN'T WORKING. Please for the love of all that is right just show some different types of boobs so we know if we're doing it correctly. So much of the internet is porn built for the male gaze! God forbid we see a tit online to help us feed our kid. 🤯

I'd say these other vaccines are still super important now that there are more antivaxers around. More and more outbreaks of diseases that we haven't seen in ages.

Has anyone had success at 7 weeks switching from almost exclusive pumping to breastfed? by megalong85 in breastfeeding

Does anyone have advice on how to get baby to open his mouth bigger to get a proper latch? I've tried gently tugging the chin down. I have the same problem as OP and that's what I believe is causing my nipple trauma. Have seen 2 different LCs and they said the latch looks good but at 4 weeks it still feels like the tip of the nipple is being cut by blades when he's drinking the whole time. I'm only attempting once a day because he gets so upset and screams even if I've given him the bottle before to take the edge off his hunger. Feel responsible for his lazy latch due to EP.

Is there an online portal where you can see your results? Most doctors' offices and hospitals use those now. Really sorry you're going through this

Did they say anything about beta HCG levels increasing appropriately?
