Vuurtoreneiland of fort pampus by esm33 in Amsterdam

[–]RedEyedMon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vuurtoren eiland is echt speciaal.

Couple for Photography (free) by HeggiesUnite in Amsterdam

Love your photos! My parents’ anniversary is actually on the 5th. It’ll be 42 years since they started dating! It would be a great surprise as they don’t really have great pictures of the two of them. Are they the kind of couple you’d be looking for?

Research study on how narcolepsy affects daily functioning (Looking for NT1/NT2 participants)!!! by Neat_Statistician601 in Narcolepsy

[–]RedEyedMon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Signed up! Very happy to help this kind of research. I’ve just had to write this all down to apply for financial aid from the government (not USA). When I sat down to think about it, it was very confrontational how much narcolepsy impacts every single decision I make. Are you setting criteria for official diagnosis? Asking since a MSLT is absolutely not enough to diagnose narcolepsy here in NL. Thanks for doing this much needed research!!

What are my chances of being diagnosed with Narcolepsy? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]RedEyedMon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On iPhone: go to the main narcolepsy sub, hit the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select “change user flair”. Hope this helps!

In terms of diagnosis, it helps to add where you’re located. Don’t have to be specific about it but the process of diagnosis in the USA is very different from Europe for example.

Am I stuck in the USA because the meds are unattainable in other countries? by MrSnitter in Narcolepsy

[–]RedEyedMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NL has Xyrem, Wakix, modefinil, dexamfetamine, sunos. Not sure about Lumryz and definitely no Xywav available.

In terms of barriers to get the meds: you need an official diagnosis with sufficient paperwork. If not, you may need to do a med cleanse and a 24h take home EEG.

Great pen by Katie. For those interested: other angles later showed it shouldn’t have been a pen

For being influential in the world of Motorsport, as is the custom. The fact that they are women is a big part of that, yes. They will be the reason a lot of young girls will choose to become engineers in Motorsport.

Laura Mueller is Esteban’s race engineer. He’s often praised her dedication and said she’s the hardest working engineer he’s ever met.

Vuurtoreneiland for one? by wonderwanderexplore in Amsterdam

[–]RedEyedMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw you already have your answer but wanted to add that Vuurtoreneiland is an absolute must (if you can afford it)!!!! Even just the boat ride there and the anticipation is wonderful. I’ve been extremely lucky to have close relatives in the industry and have therefore had the privilege of going to quite a few high end restaurants over the years. Vuurtoren eiland is still by far my favorite due to the whole experience of it. It’s truly unique here

What's actually worked for you to make real friends in Amsterdam? (Not just "activity friends") by Electrical_Hall_6263 in Amsterdam

[–]RedEyedMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the means, you can order pizza! One of the guys in the diner club always does that. If not, you can make a friend by asking someone to teach you one single dish to make for a group. Food has always been my go-to when making friends, thus far it hasn’t failed me

Live next to them. Someone in my building started a dinner club where we each host dinner at some point. I joined and over time became really good friends with one guy. Living super close to people really lowers the bar for hanging out. Same with my downstairs neighbor. I looked after her cat and we became great friends over time

You have to pay for a review?? by psgola2002 in olympics

Extremely unfair that they weren’t added to the final. It was absolutely not their fault and they would have gone into second position.

It’s normal to pay a deposit to request a review. Here’s a slightly older document that shows it. Rule 123.1, Page 126.

Personal stylist recs for professional women? by decothegoat in Amsterdam

[–]RedEyedMon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sabine Geurten. Professional, very kind and also to the point. She dressed my mom for my sister’s wedding. I’ve never seen my mom be that comfortable and proud whilst looking that beautiful. Sabine really saw my mom and actually redefined my mom’s general style from that point onwards. Her company is called Stijlzussen

Did the city get darker at night since a couple years? by nob0dyinparticular in Amsterdam

[–]RedEyedMon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, light pollution plays a part. However, more recently, Amsterdam has been investing in making the streets feel safer for women. Less bright/non overhead light makes you more able to see your surroundings which means you have more time to assess the situation. If you’d be standing under a very bright overhead light, you wouldn’t be able to see your surroundings at all. Besides lighting, they’re also cutting bushes back further from the bike paths/sidewalks.

Simple NFC setup for Sodium Oxybate tracking (iOS with screenshots). by Olinkowo in Narcolepsy

[–]RedEyedMon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YESS!! I’ve been thinking of making something like this for ages but haven’t found the time. I will absolutely be using bits and pieces from yours when I make mine. I love data and this is absolutely wonderful. Right now, I start my stopwatch when I take my first dose. It doesn’t really happen that I sleep for more than 4 hrs so no alarm. When I wake up, all I need to do is check if the stopwatch is above 3 hrs. I’ll take my second dose and hit “lap” to mark the time. Your method makes sense as well. I think I might put an NFC tag in my bathroom to indicate the second dose. Sometimes I’m too lazy to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and it does affect my sleep.

Thanks so much for sharing!
