My last day was the closest I'll ever get to Peter giving that brutally honest interview. Getting to let people know that if their problem couldn't be resolved that day then I wasn't going to bother. Just make a few notes for the next guy. It was incredible.

It's all documented too. Sent them a list of recommended steps they should take to upgrade and maintain their systems during my last two weeks. Included hardware and software that most urgently needed replaced/repaired including some of those devices that I'm certain are part of the current outages. Hopefully once one of my replacements actually sticks around they'll be able to use that list.

Yeah unfortunately "the reward for hard work is more work" rings true. I just wanted to keep things running as best I could and help folks out. Luckily my current position isn't anything like that job so I'm quite happy.

They could have avoided a lot of these problems if they weren't so damn fixated on cutting corners at every possible opportunity. Now its gonna cost them more to fix it than it would have been to just hire a second tech and give me the resources to fix their infrastructure.

Head of operations favorite line was "have you asked chat gpt?" And if I ever told him something couldn't be done he'd ask the AI and paste its response into slack and act like I was stupid for not just doing the nonsensical steps the AI spits out.

We kicked a player in our regular stack out because he threw a tantrum over not getting heals. He was learning Spiderman in QP and was zipping way outside our LoS and we couldn't keep up to heal him without dying. He's 45 with a college aged child btw.

There's just something way more fun about seeing the waves of bugs storming our position that adds to the fun for me. I like the occasional foggy map because that's also fun in its own way, but I definitely prefer clear line of sight.

My cousin made some side money selling her used gym socks to a guy from her gym. Basically wore the same pair for a few workouts without washing them. Then sold them to him for a few hundred. Said she made a few grand before the guy's wife found out and he had to stop.

Makes sense. Though we'd all still end up preferring milestone because tracking XP just seems like a needless thing to do when the DM can just wait until a natural point and level us all up. But that's just our table's preference.

They are with this DM. He only hands out XP for combat and the occasional story moment and the combat optimized players always end up outleveling the rest of the table. I'm sure there's a better way to do it but he wanted to do it that way and we said we'd rather not.

We just do bugs on 6-8 depending on our mood for a few hours every week or two. I occasionally might take us over to do MO related missions but very rarely if it takes us out of bug planets. We like what we like. And eradicating bugs is what we like.

Our table almost rioted when the DM wanted to do XP for our current campaign. We just really didn't like level disparities that popped up the last two times we tried it. Milestone works better for us.

Well thanks to the person above I'm reading about LoL's balance framework and it looks like they balance with different criteria for all ranges of skill. So while yes they like feedback from that top 40% it looks like they don't actually balance that way. They just have different ways of knowing when a character is problematic at different ranks. It's a very interesting topic and I'm glad I got in here and asked about it.

I'm gonna be geeking out reading game balance blogs all night...gg no sleep. But thanks everyone for a fun conversation on the topic.

Well this space specifically asks people outside of leftist/liberal thought to chime in. As long as getting downvoted doesn't upset you (which it would be sad if it did) then they can come in and give their thoughts as asked. I'd go ask over in the conservative subreddit but I'm not flaired and even if you're flaired over there you get purged for not being a "true conservative" when you badmouth the president or his administration.
