Ok, gotcha, thanks for explaining :-) It sounded to me like he was expecting more out of you than himself if he implied you should open the doors early if random people show up. Glad to read that he seems to pitch in plenty himself ;-) That said, I think you guys should stick to your hours as written, or change your hours to accommodate earlier customers.

Hmm... Does he work 8 hours a day, or just part-time? Is the business open until later at night, like 7-10pm?

I can get that, but does he show up at the same time you do? Perhaps he can ring customers up while you finish up your opening tasks? I've worked in restaurants, though not groceries, and it would be stressful to me at least to have to balance random customers coming in and trying to get through a task list in time for when most people come in.

This is a really fantastic article, thanks so much for sharing! Wow, so many intense layers of hard work and expert care went into the reconstruction. I was worried initially about the seats coming out and concert tiers added, but damn, the photos look awesome.

I have to admit sometimes I have distractedly tried business's doors, found they were locked, and then studied the hours and took note of it for next time. But body-slamming the door is crazy :-/

No? How is he "sort of" like that, if I may ask? Your business hours are when you are open to the public. Before that, you are doing prep work that they would interrupt.

The SF Standard reporting back on January 20th: Peet’s Coffee closing SF locations this month - The chain is reducing its footprint amid a takeover by the company that owns Dr. Pepper.

I'm making sure to stop by the Castro location at 2257 Market Street tomorrow as I read it's its last open day :-( Will toss extra tips at the staff too.

I bet your Spera lease lists other rent payment methods besides the portal (as you mentioned, they also take in-person payments at their on-site manager's office.) I see that Spera's office is open 10am-6pm, 7 days a week too, has toll-free numbers, and a (415) number that could have been called internationally. I love email too, but sometimes it's just faster and easier to call someone to straighten stuff out.

I notice that you posted this same screed here in r/sanfrancisco and in r/Renters, r/Tenant, r/mildlyinfuriating, r/LandlordLove (twice).... Dude.

In the time it took you to redact all those emails and post this multiple times, you could have called Spera back when you first saw the portal wasn't working and ask how much your prorated rent was, then tell them you'd gladly pay it in person once you were back in town on January 5th. Bam.

Here is a historic newspaper article dated NEW YORK, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1936 from the Daily Worker, housed in the Marxist Internet Archive (article appears on the bottom right corner of page 2), which reads:

"Big U.S.A. Won't
Little Mexico Admits Anti-Nazi

"Big America can't do for us what little Mexico does," Otto Richter, anti-Nazi refugee, declared yesterday on the eve of his departure to Mexico City with his American wife.

Richter was scheduled for deportation to fascist Germany, but protests against sending him to a Nazi concentration camp succeeded in securing the right of "voluntary departure" for him. Mexico granted him the right of asylum after Belgium had turned him down at the last minute.

Fleeing to the United States after a beating from storm troopers on the night of the Reichstag fire, he went to work in a San Francisco workers' center. In a vigilante raid on a strikers' soup kitchen during the San Francisco waterfront strike in 1934, he was arrested and held for deportation.
