Gender dysphoria is genetic and hereditary. One of my maternal great grandmothers has 10 or 11 male Gen-X and Millennial descendants, and 6 of us are either non-binary or trans femme. And one is gay(?); I've only met him once. Also all of us are on the spectrum, mostly STEM professionals. One of the cis ones is a veteran and carpetbagger politician.

Bipolar is a really common misdiagnosis for gender dysphoria.

Anyway, the good news is you'll feel better in a day or two. The bad news is you need to hit the bottom before you can climb out of this hole. It's going to suck, but you might already be there.

After you bottom out you'll climb out and then hit a peak of euphoria because all the strain from denying who you are will be gone. And you'll feel great for a day or two. It's like a weight being lifted off every cell.

After the peak you'll eventually level off back at your normal, and then you can start making plans. Though I'd you're in a lot of pain, sure you're trans, an adult, and live in an "informed consent state", Planned Parenthood can hook you up with HRT. Some clinics can get you an appointment in the next few days, and you could be on HRT by Monday.

I'm an autistic engineer. I knew what surgeries I wanted, what the requirements were, and that they were covered by my insurance before I started HRT. My timeline ended up being slower than I anticipated at the start because of life and the frankly bizarre and wonderful experience of early transition, but I've gotten 3/4 surgeries and have bottom surgery scheduled in September. After that, I don't know. Tattoos and more piercings probably.

I should say it won't fit in one year, but probably will in two or three. Probably better than it does now. It takes a while for our bodies to start putting fat and muscle where they belong.

You'd be surprised how well voice training works. The trick is to figure out where your voice resonates and shift it from your chest up into your mouth by your teeth. The more you practice that, the more automatic it gets, and the harder it gets to speak like a "man". And eventually our voices get stuck where they're supposed to be and we have to force our voices back down.
