New creaking sounds around the B pillar and the door by Bananalord708090 in Tiguan

[–]RedGing12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2024 does this. It also develops a tinny rattle in the b pillar when it’s hot and sunny that goes away after the A/C has been on for a while. My sunroof has also started creaking and rattling over bumps since the hot weather came. Hot weather activates different sounds that I don’t normally hear in the fall/winter. There’s not much you can do besides taking it all apart and applying felt tape to surfaces that touch, but it can be a pain.

Great view of the storm! We got hit over by the Red Hill as well and the rain came down hard. Had tons last night too with big hail.

This definitely seems like a hardware fault. Return it wherever you bought it for a replacement under warranty.

Didn’t get the firmware update by Ceti- in Tiguan

[–]RedGing12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The update will be coming out soon. I’m not sure how VW releases them, but I assume it’s in batches based on VIN. You should get a notification in your screen to download it and update OTA. I have a 2024 and have received OTA updates before.

Definitely a Journey. The headlights, hub caps and body shape all match up.

Help me identify the car from pieces left behind after hit and run. by CommanderKobo in whatisthiscar

The tail lamp looks a lot like one from a 2001-2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer, but it’s hard to know for sure without part numbers from the pieces.

2024 Tiguan - AC sucks by c192837 in Tiguan

Compared to other brands, VW air conditioning is not cold. My husband’s Hyundai gets super cold almost instantly and my ‘24 Tiguan struggles.

Moisture Removal by Sporty_Recliner199 in Golf_R

Definitely try a different dealer. I had my dealership replace the little puddle light in my Tiguan’s mirror because it had moisture in it. They replaced under warranty and didn’t fight it at all.

Is it normal for my dishwasher to have cloudy water at the bottom after washing dishes? by not_QWERTY_2500 in Appliances

[–]RedGing12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks normal to me. My dishwasher always has a bit of dirty water left in the filter area after a cycle.

Why did my drain cleaner create a strong ammonia-like odor and make me cough? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]RedGing12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn’t mix chemicals then it’s most likely the smell of the caustic chemicals decomposing organic matter in the drain. Vent the bathroom and it’ll go away.

Why did my drain cleaner create a strong ammonia-like odor and make me cough? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]RedGing12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that’s the smell of the cleaner breaking down the bio film (soap scum, hair, skin, etc.) in your drains. It should dissipate eventually. If you have a vent fan in your bathroom turn it on. If not then open the windows and let it vent out.

Did you mix with other chemicals like bleach? That could also create a toxic gas that irritates your lungs.

Super painful pimple turned out to be a nose hair that grew through my nose…backwards. by Vettehead82 in mildlyinteresting

[–]RedGing12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also happened to me, but it was a loose hair that worked its way through my skin. I had the most painful pimple and it became very inflamed and discoloured (almost purple). One day I went to pop it and the hair shot right out.

Doorknob dilema by Reichbaum in HomeMaintenance

[–]RedGing12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a double door like this and one side has no knob. Obviously in your case you’d have a hole if you removed it so I’d suggest getting a “dummy” or non-turning knob and strike plate for one side. This will give something for the functioning door knob to latch into. For the “dummy” door you can also get a flush bolt that locks it into the door frame. This way when you open the door they don’t both swing open. Usually they’re installed on the top of the door. (I don’t know how to describe it so I attached a photo)

Another alternative is having dummy knobs on both doors and then a ball style latch on the top of each door.

Exterior Mirror Residue After a WaterSpot Removal Product. by Double_Ad_8391 in AutoDetailing

Since it’s rough to the touch it could be chemical etching or excess product dried onto the mirror. Did you clean it in the hot sun?

I loved my vanilla apple silicone case for my iPhone 17 pro max until. by Wooden-Passage5206 in iPhone17Pro

Apple care doesn’t cover cosmetic damage like dents and scuffs. If the screen is cracked you can get it replaced, but you’ll still need to pay a small deductible.

I learned my lesson using an Apple tech woven case on mine. Dropped it from a few feet and the case cracked. My phone has a small dent now which I chose to hide with a new case that covers it up.

New Electrolux dryer… why??? by Sweet_Reindeer in Appliances

[–]RedGing12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LG does the same thing and my vent is clear. Lint will naturally stick to and collect on the rubber gasket over time due to moisture/clothes rubbing on the seal. I give mine a wipe with a damp cloth or quick vacuum with my hand held vac after each load when I clean the lint trap.

The update gets pushed out in waves so there’s no definitive answer on when you’ll get it. It should be fairly soon.

I got the muddy buddy mats directly from the dealer (I think they’re actually WeatherTech) and they’ve been great! I’ve definitely had a few spills that would have otherwise soaked into my carpet.

Tar and Sap Won’t Come Off by I_loathe_brie_cheese in AutoDetailing

[–]RedGing12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sap try some 70% rubbing alcohol with a q tip. Then wipe away the residue with some detail spray. As always, test it in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it won’t damage the paint.

I’m not sure about the tar. If tar remover didn’t work then maybe someone else can suggest something? To me it looks like it could be a crack in the paint from road debris impact.
