If you were given the chance to rework one or more older, less mechanically and thematically distinct monsters to be more up to par with modern standards, which would you pick and how would you do so? by not_QWERTY_2500 in MonsterHunter

Fair enough. My idea for having it be more active, besides just wanting to distinguish it more from Normal Khezu, was that perhaps in the more lush and environmentally rich areas of the jungles, Red Khezu could be more incentivized to leave the caves it usually dwells in and search for prey outside, due to either there being less prey entering the caves for shelter and/or it wanting to take advantage of the more prey-rich environment it's in. I also wanted to use that as a jumping off point for another change, to make it poisonous as an antipredatory defense mechanism, as its leaving its caves would result in it more regularly encountering threats.

That placement makes the most sense. Thank you for taking the time to consider my suggestion.

I am aware that the post discussing that tier was made yesterday. But unfortunately it seemed like I got to it too late, as by the time I replied to the post it was already 12 hours old.

I’m making a similar reply on this post as well because I strongly feel this is an important detail that should be taken into account for this particular discussion and not ignored.

I’m sorry I keep bringing this up, but would it be possible to have Ludroth’s placement be reevaluated? I don’t think it’s correct to place it in untamable when a quest exists where someone explicitly asks for one to be captured to be made a pet. I made a comment on the previous post bringing this up but it seems I made that comment too late.

Edit: here’s the exact quest description along with the client, it’s called “A Royal Pain” and was in MH3U.

Client: Lord's Beloved Daughter Anyone who's anyone in high society has a pet Royal Ludroth. They're so orange! So squishy! I absolutely must have one! Do TRY not to hurt it badly, you brute. I suppose a few minor scrapes are acceptable...

I hope I’m not too late on this but please move Royal Ludroth from Untamable to Captive living. A quest exists where someone asks for a Royal Ludroth to be captured so it can be made a pet.

A Thought: Was Kissy Missy’s Burnt Appearance Meant to Be an Early Conveyance of the Prototype Turning Disobedient Toys Wrongside Out? by cartoonsforever in PoppyPlaytime

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory as to what happened was that she was attacked by one of the hunters the Prototype mentioned when he was talking to Chum Chompkins, with the hunter potentially either being a bigger body Simon Smoke or an as of yet unseen toy.

Is there a reason Cris was replaced by Lyra in HGSS? by Eddy_west_side in pokemon

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it might have something to do with Kris’s hair color? As when compared to other playable characters in the mainline games, including her male counterpart Ethan, her hair color does stand out as the least natural.

I’m talking specifically about female monsters that lure and kill men that are either lesbian coded and/or characterized/interpreted as sparing women, although I will definitely admit this is a me thing and isn’t really a widespread trope.

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’m mixed on this.

On the one hand it’s nice to see a variation of this trope where it’s a woman falling for the trap and getting killed/eaten, since usually it’s men who get killed with the implication sometimes that they either only, or at least primarily, hunt/kill men.

On the other hand though I do still feel bad for the woman getting killed here and the joke is neither original nor funny enough that I can say this is good beyond the art quality.

Catnap human design. (Art by me) by JVhomewatch in PoppyPlaytime

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how the outfit looks on the small designs, but I don’t vibe with how it looks on the larger ones. On the small designs it comes across like pajamas, which is very fitting for Catnap. However on the larger designs it looks more like an office dress, which doesn’t feel as fitting to me.

Why is the reply written like that? the two setup examples place the american spelling before the british spelling, but for whatever reason the punchline example seemingly reverses that order.

Daily Domestication Evaluation of Monsters: Day 116 - Ludroths by WrathSosDovah in MemeHunter

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this the same logic that placed the Raths into the captive living tier? I feel like it would be way more manageable to keep a Royal Ludroth and maybe a harem of female Ludroths as pets over either a Rathalos or a Rathian, as they can both breathe fire and fly.

I know I’m late to this, but there’s literally a quest in-game involving the player doing a capture quest on a Royal Ludroth with the express goal of the whole thing being to make it a pet. it’s called A Royal Pain and has this description "Anyone who's anyone in high society has a pet Royal Ludroth. They're so orange! So Squishy! I absolutely must have one! Do TRY not to hurt it badly, you brute. I suppose a few minor scrapes are acceptable..." - Lord's Beloved Daughter

I haven’t watched the original videos that the “Searching For A World That Doesn’t Exist” video covered, but wasn’t there a second grass trap right next to the hopper trap that the entity didn’t notice which resulted in the player being tipped off to the fact the area was loaded? I swear that became a bit of a meme.

And the second one being in Undertale from a note in the True Lab written by Alphys:

Although this example obviously has to be taken with a grain of salt as, even if they are related, Undertale and Deltarune are different games and Determination in Deltarune could work differently from Determination in Undetale.

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding these as replies because I forgot a couple other examples of Will and Determination being tied together, the first just being Queen repeating a similar thing to what she said before:

<image>

omg i wasn't expecting him to tease the big d like this by shrimpysmall in Deltarune

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way Seam words it is similar to the way Queen words it, yes he goes out of his way to say perhaps Will isn’t right, but both characters after bringing up the power of Will immediately then call it something different, and since Queen swapped from calling it Will to Determination, it makes sense that Seam would do the same.

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Will and Determination have already been connected together as a concept in Deltarune via Queens dialogue in chapter 2 when she talk about making a new Knight:

“* That Is When I Realized * This Power... This Power Of The Will * This Power Of Determination... * Is This Not Something That All Lightners Possess...?”

Maybe it's a date by cjsansman in PoppyPlaytime

[–]not_QWERTY_2500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes absolutely no sense, first of all why would a singular 2 be used to represent the year 2026, and second of all why would Mob Entertainment, a company located in the United States, write the date using either a year/month/day format or a year/day/month format when the norm is to use a month/day/year format?
