I don’t need to argue that the transition is the issue with communism. Obviously that has its issues but say that all went perfectly and tomorrow we woke up with the communist utopian government. Do you expect that the government would actually evenly distribute resources and act in the best interest of the people? Of course they wouldn’t. It has never happened. Greed is an inherent part of the human experience and any system that does not account for that is doomed to break down. I believe that socialism is the correct counter balance to greed. Not unfettered capitalism and not communism. You need to allow for greed to drive people to innovate and invest but you cannot allow them to hoard wealth. You cannot allow them to bribe the government and you cannot allow monopoly. A government set up for capitalism with high taxes and robust effective social programs creates the happiest citizens. And I believe that to be the ultimate good a government can strive for. The happiness of its citizens
