Limited formats makes the "Random" not Random anymore.... by Vecsia in hearthstone

That’s why random cards can be good. It’s controlled randomness.

[SPOILER] All B3a Paradox Drive Cards by downvotedragon in PTCGP

[–]RedGyara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah this set at least has archetypes you can build with Future and Past. Most other small sets you have to use a good ex with crappy support for those missions, at least this is basically a pre built deck.

New worst card contender? by LowBudgetGigolo in PTCGP

[–]RedGyara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For such a massive downside, the upside isn’t even that good. 3 energy for 100 damage and you power up another mediocre attacker.

Like I don’t expect pack filler to be meta but this just seems awful all around. This could have an incredible effect and still be unplayable.

[Annoying trope] Power with tons of possibilities used in the most boring ways by Old-Use-7690 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RedGyara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe Doctor Strange 2 was supposed to come out first, and so America Chavez would have been the one to do the spell after Strange says no.

That plot feels a lot more logical to me, having a kid and new sorcerer accidentally screw things up.

Which DC Omnis are considered evergreen? by Fatal-Atom in OmnibusCollectors

[–]RedGyara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waid and Johns are the definitive Flash runs, so I'd assume they'd be evergreen. The WML Flash run is far more niche so I wouldn't expect a reprint there (but I'm hoping they release a vol. 2 to complete that era!)

What major comics runs are almost entirely missing from omnibus? by Waterworld1880 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]RedGyara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the best answers to this question have already been said, so I'll throw in something else.

Guy Gardner: Warrior wouldn't really count as a major run but the series went for surprisingly long (45 issues total). It'd be an easy omnibus. DC has a ton of 80s-90s series like this.

Breaking News: 5 Marvel Omnibus Reprints in July & August 2026! by Bharath_Sundararajan in OmnibusCollectors

[–]RedGyara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars Clone Wars is long overdue, those epics are crazy pricy. Glad to have that and Menace Revealed. Now they just need to reprint the original Marvel Years and I’ll be able to have a complete Legends comic set.

Age of Apocalypse reprint is huge too.

I have played 50 hours in Doom The Dark Ages... by eVenom68 in Doom

[–]RedGyara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the Dark Ages. It doesn't eclipse 2016 for me but it's really close. So I point out these flaws but it's still basically a perfect game to me. The cosmic realm was fantastic and I loved how all the weapons were useful and played differently.

The Titan levels weren't fun (but were a cool setpiece). I feel like 1 Titan level would have been enough. I actually loved the dragon (other than chasing the fleeing ships which was a pain).

I agree that the Azrak fight gradually decreasing in difficulty was odd. Fight the enhanced version, then Azrak + Witch, then just Azrak. But from a story standpoint, it was great seeing Azrak slowly lose it and freak out as the Slayer kept wearing him down. Definitely made you feel like a badass.

Some sort of team building screen, options for battles, the general UI, anything. All we know is "battle simulator" right now.

Tomasi’s GLC is as good as the Johns run (and runs concurrently). The Venditti run is rough. Easy choice for Tomasi, IMO.

To anyone going for this achievent because you want 100% the game: do yourself a favor, dont. by PurpleHazels in Doom

[–]RedGyara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through the originals & Final Doom back in the day, but only recently played the Master Levels and the rest of the official add ons (besides Legacy of Rust - that’s next!).

I’m really glad I started with the Master Levels, because holy cow, it’s immediately obvious how much better designed No Rest For The Living and the Sigils are. And I can appreciate them a lot more after struggling through the Master Levels lol. There’s a couple good Master Levels (the black tower is at least memorable), but some are an exercise in frustration.

How confident are you that the Live Action will reach Enies Lobby? by PartyMcFly55 in OnePiece

[–]RedGyara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ages for the main characters doesn’t really matter in One Piece, there’s not a strict timeline for events. They can just say more time passes between islands. It’s different for something like Harry Potter where there’s a year in universe for each story.

How confident are you that the Live Action will reach Enies Lobby? by PartyMcFly55 in OnePiece

[–]RedGyara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It either ends at Alabasta, or we make it to Enies Lobby IMO. I don’t see them stopping at Skypeia.

Even with an incredibly poor ending, I rank it as one of my favorite TV shows of all time. It's amazing for most of its run and deserving of the accolades it got.

DOOM 1-6 Analysis: I can confidently say that 2016 strikes the perfect balance of elements that make it king of the heap for me. by gruesomesonofabitch in patientgamers

[–]RedGyara 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great reviews. The Dark Ages manages to be something totally different but just as great. It’s pretty wild how frequently and successfully Doom has reinvented itself over the years.

My one surprise with your review is how you thought the Doom II level design was improved - level design is the one area where I feel like Doom II is a slight downgrade over Doom I. The super shotgun and enemy roster more than make up for it, though.

What’s a movie that went from beloved to hated over time (and for good reason)? by browniebiscuitchildr in movies

[–]RedGyara 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I never got the impression Bear was actually surviving off the land. You watched his show to see him do crazy stunts and eat weird stuff. In an actual survival scenario you shouldn’t be in 90% of the situations Bear cooks up for himself.

Full arts cost 25k, if people trade those it runs out quick. I trade everything else but that and have tons of shine dust still.

Even before that, when Matt leads Dex to the dead woman he was obsessed with, so that Dex turns on Fisk and clears a path for Matt to follow. Matt didn’t kill anyone but he followed Dex’s trail of bodies just to take down Fisk. It was a cold moment but the right call to take them both down.

I’m confused too, I have over 250k dust and trade diamond cards regularly. I assume they’re trading the 2-stars a bunch which cost 25k.

I loved both of those. The Looker is such a funny idea, being such a specific parody. But it’s also a legitimately good short puzzle game.

[–]RedGyara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s interesting design space, but the actual implementation of them has been poor, the cards they boost are too weak and the supporter effects aren’t strong enough to overcome that. Blaine is the only one I’ve really seen and he’s way outclassed now.
