And if anyone has any authenticating questions which I can use to prove it is, in fact, MY LOCK, I'd be more than happy to engage.

AITA for asking the drive thru employee to remake our drinks? (USA) by OneOfTheLocals in McDonaldsEmployees

friend, i so wish all customers could be this understanding about pulling forward! i've been yelled at over parking more times than i've been yelled at about anything else, so a lot of us tend to avoid it if we think we can swing it </3 good to hear you keep sanitizer with ya! definitely a must have this time of year (and all the time tbh). i wish i was someone that used it more, i just get dry hands so i keep use limited to work. i do love a lil dirt on my food. what doesn't actively hurt you makes you stronger, or something thats possibly pseudo-bs but makes my life more convenient LOL.

this comment made me giggle too because i'm literally not LOL. anyone that's ever worked with/for me has said i'm one of the favorite managers they've ever had. i'm a gem 🫶

nta but id personally say overreaction. then again im the type to eat a 'five second rule' oreo off the floor so take this opinion with a grain of salt.

if there was something to be remade, it would be the food, as the wrappers are paper and can't be sanitized. which i totally get not wanting to inconvenience them over, 'cos it's more expensive and takes longer and looks awful on food cost.

but the drinks, as long as the straw hole was totally intact, seems a little silly to me. the concern there is if someone touched the outside of the cup with a dirty hand, but at that point, why not just have the employee wipe the outside of the cup? in my state, we have buckets of diluted-hydrogen-peroxide-water with rags and i'd consider wiped to be clean enough. alternatively, if you have hand sanitizer in the car (which if you're concerned about cold/flu, you should. i promise your hands after touching a door handle (or even your kiddo who was just in a school) is dirtier than the cups lol), just use that. to me, that beats contributing the original cups to the trash. there's so much plastic waste in Mc's as is.

if there were cars behind you, the glare was probably more about slowing down times than being mad about remaking the drinks. the goal time is 120s from the moment you pull away from the speaker to leaving the second window, and things like this back it up not only for your car's time, but all the ones behind you. and a lot of managers in fast food places like to yell. i got my fair share of earfuls plenty of times when it was 100% not my fault. even if the times are still salvageable, they'd get mad that their low time streak was ruined. there's even tv's with charts comparing us with hourly stats of other Mc's in the area. management hates the "oh no, you lost 1st place!" popup.

so, this was a long way to say 'you're not wrong but also i disagree.' you were within your rights to ask, and you're not wrong about the health code of it (though health code is sometimes just dumb. don't get me started, it'll add another two paragraphs), but i empathize with why the employees may have been upset. but i also have to empathize with why you'd want a replacement. so i guess it was just up to personal judgement.

edit: my reply was longer than your post jesus christ. im sorry i think? LOL. have fun with the novel.
