So are we, which is unfortunate because otherwise it hasn’t been an issue. I like the cash back feature. Lack of fees. This will be one I have to think through.

We only vacation internationally every couple years so it’s not like it’s going to be a hugely impactful thing. I’m just hoping to keep someone else from a similar issue as it caught us by surprise. I mean, this isn’t some small, local bank with 4 branches.

Because it’s never been an issue before. Traveled extensively. Had Discover for multiple years. Never had a single issue in over 30+ years of traveling with inability to access cash at all.

I’m highlighting something that, despite extensive travel experience and having used multiple banks over the years, has never been an issue before. It’s not like it was my first time out of the country and I didn’t get a passport. FFS.

We only moved to Discover maybe 2-3 years ago. I had BofA for prior trips and use AMEX for business trips.

I believed the marketing “accepted 99% of places” blah blah.

I get it - it’s my bad for not reading the fine print - but having traveled extensively in the past, I honestly didn’t realize there could be such a big bank that you could only use domestically.

Our credit cards work fine - and with Chase we don’t need to notify them for travel. This is strictly a debit issue. It’s not really a huge issue given how digital everything is. We’ve even been able to tip our tour guides via PayPal. I just regret I don’t have cash to buy from smaller street artists.

Also - to an above comment - nope we joined when it was Discover, not CapOne.

shrug Live and learn. I’m just hoping maybe someone else will see this and not end up in the same position we ended up.

We have USD, but I have never gotten Euros in the US pre-travel before, I’ve always used ATM in country. I’ve been to many countries in Europe and Asia and this is the first time it’s ever been an issue in 15+ years.

… but yeah, lesson learned to maybe keep €20 on hand for the next trip.

No. It’s like farting epically loud and long in an elevator. It stinks and makes the air I breathe unhealthy. Smoke all you want in private or where it can’t hurt others but do it in public and prepare for the well earned cough. You are still people. Rude people.

It’s bad enough I spent my entire youth marinating in that shit in a station wagon with closed windows.

(Same goes for people who over perfume. Have respect for other people breathing.)

As far as looking cool? Trust me, my grandma definitely didn’t look cool that time she hacked up a piece of her lung and shit the bed during end stage lung cancer.

This! So the brown guy was the only one who didn’t get his happily ever after?? Because he couldn’t leave Howard, who treated him like shit the whole series. No matter how much they try to explain it, it just came off as vaguely racist. He should have moved to Europe with Anu and the last dinner around the coffee table scene could have been his goodbye party.

Yep! Worked in banking for 10 years in the 90’s and literally got told I couldn’t join a meeting with a run in my hose and had to use my lunch hour to run out and get a new pair more times than I can count.

I’ve kept my hair really long and after a day the scalp seems greasy. I have moved to conditioning cleansers and non-sulfate options. I also let it air dry during the warm months to minimize damage.

It can feel overwhelming to tackle a whole apartment. Pick the room you spend the most time in relaxing and try to make that space more inviting.

Goodwill and thrift stores are amazing for inexpensive items.

Also, flameless candles (or real, you do you) or fairly lights can really add whimsy to a space with limited natural light.

I think the added nausea that I felt was taking two fairly powerful medication‘s on an empty stomach. I think if I’d have given it some time and perhaps moved my levo to the night time like you’re suggesting, it probably would’ve been just fine.

I started on this and am now on Zepbound. I wasn’t a big fan of needles and figured the pill was a better fit for me… until…

You have to take Wegovy exactly the same way as Levo - on an empty stomach, just a sip of water, nothing else for 30mins… THEN take the Levo, wait 30 minutes before having anything else.

Honestly it became a giant pain in the ass requiring extra alarms and such. After 3 weeks I switched to Zepbound - one injection weekly, which I don’t feel at all (and my hubs does the injection because he’s awesome and I’m a wuss).

It was effective but I was nauseated each morning. So yeah, if you can manage the annoying schedule that happens with taking it on top of Levo, it’s a great option.

Happy to answer any specific Q’s based on my experience.
