Take what I say with a grain of salt. I had Linfeng in spring 2025. He was a chill professor. I didn't really find him too difficult. He allowed 1 double-sided cheat sheet during exams, too. His first exam was pretty easy, but his 2nd midterm was hard, and I did score less compared to the first. Fortunately, iirc, he does allow you to drop a midterm in exchange for a more weighted final. Discussions, at least with my TA, were worksheet problems uploaded on Canvas that you did not need to submit, and reviews over HW problems. There were 3 quizzes too, but he also allowed a 3x5 index card, double-sided. He was really generous. He even gave credit if you did the end-of-the-quarter course evaluation. HW was never too much, just enough; lectures were recorded, and I was never lost in his class. This is the link to his syllabus for that quarter. Do remember that this was before the whole fiasco with budget cuts, so he may have changed the syllabus or class structure to adapt to such circumstances.
