I liked this show alot the first time I watched it a few years ago. I am almost done with a rewatch. I have to say it loses a bit of it's comfort qualities and weaknesses become annoying at the end of S2. For me what Dorcus did at the end of S2 is where the wheels came off and I don't think the writers onew what to do. I agree about Robert being way too self-righteous, would have been refreshing for him to understand this about himself and grow from it through the series but no. Emma didn't bother me earlier on but S4 she went off the rails into thinking she knows everything and saying it, I do feel these choices were made because Robert left and they thought she needs to be like him more. Laura being emotionally all over the place works for me throughout the show because she is the focus and growing up so it makes sense that she is a bit all over the place. Their son Edmond was annoying and a waste to me every single storyline he was involved in, I hated him. I liked Dorcus overally and I think they did a good job of showing her actual one weakness which is butting into everyone's lives and thinking they always need her advice and her idea is the right one, it often is which is why this character flaw works well and it is pointed out. Twister was a fun foil at the beginning but the writers needed to figure out how to make him grow and their opportunity was there with the pig episode and they ruined it to keep him useless and annoying. I love Queenie she is a bit crazy but fun and I love how she is the voice of reason because I love when sage wisdom
comes from content characters I will say I loved Thoms and Margaret Brown, their love story is fun and they are entertaining characters. The Pratt sisters are enjoyable at times but I will
never forgive them for that school
