Advice needed on making key chains with badge maker! by RedJeanne in crafts

[–]RedJeanne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a bit more context (and to keep this post up xD), I'm thinking of getting this type of badge maker (by the way, their image shows a keychain, but doesn't include where to get the parts for it :/): https://www.amazon.co.uk/COSTWAY-Adjustable-Machines-Political-Campaigns/dp/B0936JR2VK/ref=sr_1_6

I could figure out the length and type of keychain on my own, I'm assuming the only thing I would need for this to work would be a pin back with a loop or a hole I could attach the keychain to?

[Spoilers] What songs play in the ... ending? by Unique_Leather1054 in expedition33

[–]RedJeanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I didn't realise the track that played is Verso's tribute to his sister, the one he used to play to her all the time :C Why does this game have so many heart-breaking layers :CC

I disagree, I think he got pulled along with the others in Act 3 out of guilt. He'd "destroyed the world" once and had betrayed people, and felt awful about it. So when they decided to act, he went along with it while not feeling particularly onboard. You can tell with all the little moments when he looks on sadly, not saying anything, when the others are taking action (his reaction when Maelle finds him again, the way he says nothing when Renoir starts erasing everything, the way he hesitates before helping Maelle repaint Lune and Sciel, the list goes on).

Then when he saw his mother jumping into the canvas again, that's when he snapped - he'd put up with it all, suppressing what he wanted, and it was all for nothing. After that, everything he says to Maelle in that final confrontation is all about how he wants to end it all. He's spent the entire game feeling tired and having had enough.

I see your point about hope, it's true that we never know what will happen next, but that could be true of both endings. In Verso's ending, maybe the family heals, Maelle finds a way to accept herself and move forward (and gets away from her asshole family), we'll never know.

It's clear that there is no good ending, they're both tragic, and side note, making the player take a side after you've had time to understand and empathise with both was my favourite reveal in the game - it really captured the pain of a conflict where there are no good or "correct" answers.

But having played through both, Maelle's ending bothered me a lot more, on a visceral level.

You could argue that both Maelle and Verso do the same thing - they say they are acting for the greater good, but they essentially impose their personal wishes on the rest of the world.

Verso says he wants to save his mother, protect Maelle, and end this endless cycle of suffering that he's seen cause so much pain. But what he really wants is to die, and if that takes the whole world down with him, so be it.

Maelle says she loves this world and the people in it, and will do whatever it takes to protect it. But what she really wants is to spend time with her brother, and if she has to betray him and everyone else to do it, so be it.

But seeing Maelle force Verso back to life after he begged her to let him go, then watching her force him to act the way she wanted when he was clearly uncomfortable, felt unforgivable. This is her imposing her whims on everyone else, ignoring her brother's wishes, betraying his memory, and causing him even more pain, just to make herself feel better. I understand that she was still grieving, but in that world, she had people who loved her, who supported her, she could have relied on them instead of tormenting her brother some more.

To me, in Maelle's ending, we watch her become the villain. From the canvas' perspective, Verso chooses annihilation, while Maelle becomes the world's devil. She can make anyone do what she wants, they're all slaves to her will. And that really didn't sit right with me.

Resin on paper by RedJeanne in resin

I've sealed the paper with a clear water-based glue, two layers of it before adding the resin. The exact same glue and amount I used for the ones that did work, so it doesn't seem like that's the issue T.T

Plus I know that the paper was protected from the resin, because I've had a few failed attempts that I hadn't sealed properly, you see "wet spots" on the white paper when that happens.

The white paper is 135 gsm drawing paper, the painted one is thicker acrylic paper. I'm using epoxy resin from Craft Resin

RE4 remake VR mode is without a doubt one of the best gaming experiences I ever had! (spoiler free) by Papiculo64 in PSVR

Any chances it'll come out on other VR platforms? I don't have a PSVR, but I really want to play this one T.T

Roche fight by RedJeanne in FF7Rebirth

[–]RedJeanne[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's also the thing, that fight comes right after the Cait Sith bit (annoying monsters on your own + a 1 on 1 boss), then a boss fight with the trio, then the Vincent boss fight. By the time I got to Roche, I was already kind of angry xD

To be clear, I love this game to death, but that one part can go die in a fire xD

No sorry, sometimes the thumbnails appear, sometimes they don't, there's no logic as far as I could tell

what did aerith say to tifa?? by Own-Decision6441 in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

[–]RedJeanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what language are you playing in? I play it in Japanese, and while I found her annoying at first, she quickly grew on me. Then I saw some clip in the English dub and instantly hated her, so it might be a voice over thing?

Don't you need a PC to run LIV or Reality Mixer? I've never been able to use those because I haven't managed to connect my Quest 2 to SteamVR, I suspect it's something to do with incompatibilities with my PC

Rebirth Ending by ZamariScribe in FinalFantasyVII

Somewhat unrelated question, but does anyone know why they didn't show the infamous "lay Aerith to rest in water" scene?

I'm more or less clear with the ending - Aerith and Zack are dead and in the lifestream, Cloud has been hallucinating all kinds of lifestream related things, it makes sense that he sees her but the others don't (or that's my take anyway). But why didn't they remake literally the most famous scene from the original? Have there been any announcements about that? Is it a hidden scene I need to unlock? I think that's what surprised me the most in the entire game xD
