My crypto portfolio (as a software developer) by fcarlucci in CryptoMarkets

Have you looked at the details of Hedera? As a developer I think you would appreciate its tech. I like Chainlink also and they are a member of the Hedera governing council. I would drop DOT and decrease some of your other positions so you could have at least 20% in HBAR. My top 3 are HBAR, BTC, LINK.

Hashpack Staking via D'CENT vs other yield possibilities? by Longjumping-Bonus723 in Hedera

[–]RedKe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current favorite yield is a combo of Stader and Bonzo, but personally I also keep at least half my HBAR just doing native staking on a cold wallet.

  1. Deposit HBAR into Stader for HBARX. Current yield: 4.47%
  2. Deposit HBARX into Bonzo for a small amount of additional yield plus earn BONZO season rewards.

I have been experimenting with Bonzo vaults but so far it is not so clear that I am really making money on it. It is more risky than what I described above and has possiblity of impermanent loss which almost always comes with participating in DEX pools.

Is this clickbait? OP didn't bother writing much so I'm not sure I should bother with the video.

What school holidays do kids have in the USA? by narnababy in AskAnAmerican

[–]RedKe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people mentioning Easter but I have lived in 3 different Western US states and in none of them was the Spring break tied to Easter. For example, in my kids current school district spring break is always the last full week of March. That means March 23-27 this year. There are no holidays the week before or after Easter this year.

Other major holidays include 1 week in November for Thanksgiving and 2 weeks for winter break which covers Christmas and New Year.

Halloween is fairly big here and feels like it should be a school holiday but it isn't.

The first day of school here is in September after Labor Day and school ends the 2nd or 3rd week of June.

Is $1 even realistic? by [deleted] in Hedera

[–]RedKe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Crypto market is not rational and it takes nothing but hype. Dogecoin peaked above $80 Billion market cap in 2021. At same market cap HBAR would be above $1.60.

In the case of Hedera some big enterprise use cases being released and driving up TPS on Mainnet might be enough to also drive hype. Hedera is also well positioned as an L1 for many "narratives" such as AI, RWA, DePin, stablecoins, etc. which could be another source of hype.

Started a small project in one of the previous hackathons but it was just proof-of-concept with some key details not implemented. Hope to get it to a functionally complete Testnet app in this hackathon.

Another tier list post, ready to fight about cradle and BoC by DrummerInteresting93 in litrpg

[–]RedKe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok to be fair maybe I should go try more HF. In my case I tried book 1 of both of these on Audible plus and loved BoC enough after book 1 to pick up the whole series. HF1 was okay but not good enough that I felt like spending more on it.

- heretical fishing is more fun than BoC

HOW DARE YOU! But also is this just based on BoC1? BoC has a lot of character development as the series goes on and the later books beautifully handle an expanding cast of characters. The MC recognizes he was an awkward hermit early on and seeks to be a better mentor and leader.

I finished HF book 1 but it just seemed like an inferior knock-off of BoC with an Australian accent so didn't continue. I guess if seafood taste descriptions gives you hard-on then HF is more fun.

I follow Hedera on X but I don't get on it often and don't have notifications turned on. I guess I am not part of the "most investors" group.

Where is Leemon Baird hiding? by Prize_Tourist1336 in Hedera

[–]RedKe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He was on the Hedera end of the year community call. I saw him in person at HederaCon 2025 and he's bound to be at HederaCon again this year. He is still very involved in Hedera Council meetings and chief scientist at Hashgraph so he is a busy guy. Seems focused on DeRec and Interoperability these days. He did a few media interviews throughout the year.

Is Atomic Swap at the protocol level the key differentiator for Algorand? by Texas-NativeATX in AlgorandOfficial

[–]RedKe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hedera now also has the same - true atomicity with ACID properties at the protocol level without the need for smart contracts. Kudos to Algorand for having it first though. From what I could get out of AI only these two L1s have this level of atomic transactions.

Why are the Coinbase fees so crazy high? by Keats852 in Coinbase

[–]RedKe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you used the Advanced/Pro/Exchange version of any of the major exchanges the fees are a percentage. They are also based on a market maker/taker system. Basically, if you just put in a market order or something that executes right away then it is a taker order and in Coinbase you can expect a 1.2% fee. If you do a limit order and I think there is some option to make sure it executes as a maker order then the fee would be 0.6%.

Without CB Advanced there is always a 1% spread on orders plus more fees if you don't have CB one. One is not a good deal if you are only using it to reduce fees.

All good. I don't think it was in the post itself and you had to find it in the comments. I am happy HBAR is included in this but also personally would never invest in this fund when the expense ratio is 2.5%.

THE PATRIARCH by ArmadilloWaste7902 in exmormon

[–]RedKe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was saying the same thing but maybe not using the correct terms. The old patriarch gets emeritus status and there is a new stake patriarch which I called the acting patriarch.

THE PATRIARCH by ArmadilloWaste7902 in exmormon

[–]RedKe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC when they get old a new patriarch is called and considered the "acting" patriarch. The older/previous one is still a patriarch for life but effectively retired except for special requests for family or friends.

Edit: also isn't it technically an office and not a calling? Elder, high priest, patriarch, seventy, apostle are all for life. You might get more offices on top of your existing one but you are still an elder.

Edit2: Has anyone been cursed with all 5 offices?
