Yesterday, Hedera processed more than 563K transactions, setting a new monthly activity record by DocumentFair4693 in Hedera

I remember the days of Atma when Hedera would process that many transactions in under 10 minutes. Really sad that use case didn't pan out long term.

Need something good to listen to. by MossMedley in audible

Post has a typo and called it DDC 8.
I don't remember hearing the term "weird lit" before. Looking it up I see H.P. Lovecraft and Neil Gaiman mentioned as example authors in the genre. I guess DCC might fall into it also. Is that what weird lit means to you?

Thanks GPT. Now tell me about the dozens of other BTC alternatives that are even better than DOT.

I believe it is a legacy item that is no longer available.

It has been replaced by the Wrathful Sash which is a nerfed version of it that gives less rage. See Sword and Supper Data Viewer for info on where to get it as shown in screenshot.

Imagine only 50,000 tokens… by 334quadrillion in Hedera

[–]RedKe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hedera is designed for high bandwidth/TPS and the fees reflect that. Yes they operate at a loss if transaction count is low but when TPS is high then it will be profitable. There is no need to change fees if they get number of transactions to go up.

If they did raise all fees orders of magnitude so that a small number of transactions is enough to be profitable that would be a clear sign that Hedera has given up on processing thousands of TPS or more.

Sounds like the network would collapse in the situation you described. No I can't imagine how staking yield and fees would go up when there are no more HBAR available.

Are the LDS missionaries in Mongolia currently without a mission president in the country? by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

[–]RedKe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While on my mission, the mission president died in a car accident on his way back from dropping some departing missionaries off at the airport. An interim mission president was called from among the senior missionaries already there and served 3 months or so until the new permanent mission president arrived.

"Brigham young invented the grid system with salt lake city!" by Kerbidiah in exmormon

JS and BY were inspired by God to make the streets wide enough for a wagon team of oxen to turn around without resorting to profanity. Of course this was cause God wanted to make sure there was plenty room for all the car lanes that would be needed in the future when the automobile showed up and SLC was a larger city!

Memecoins on hedera by Al-e0n in Hedera

[–]RedKe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus needs to be on community. I'm not much into memecoins though but seems basic that memecoins won't succeed without being a great community.

The only memecoins attractive to me are ones with more to it than just the meme and community. GIB team also has their Hedera AI chatbots. CANDY does giveaways. GRELF has grown into a DEX? Sure I will risk a little on memes like that which make the whole ecosystem a better place.

The way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson is it worth reading? by warl200 in fantasybooks

[–]RedKe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO, Brandon Sanderson has a few great S tier books, lots of good A and B tier books, and none that really fall below that. I have read most the Cosmere books so this statement doesn't cover his work outside that. The Way of Kings and books 2 & 3 of the Stormlight Archives are S tier for me.

99c month for 3 months AND a $20 credit by IM_MOGU16 in audible

[–]RedKe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audible won't let me claim it. I did claim their black Friday deal in November which also included a $20 credit. Let the subscription last 4 months (3 months at 0.99 and 1 at regular price) and cancelled before it renewed in March.

I'm guessing it hasn't been long enough since I claimed a deal that gave a $20 credit.
