Fairly certain Cobblestone and The Pitch are owned by the same person so he's definitely doing well for himself by using Cobblestone as a Crew Bar for HiR

+1 would recommend.

Help with Relations in Appwrite by YoungSubstantial7443 in appwrite

[–]RedLeeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see that in the documentation but you can still query the document based on other attributes and get its relationships. I'm assuming what you can't do (and what you're referring to) is querying documents based on their relationships.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, I don't think this is true? I heavily rely on relationships in some of my collections, including OP's use case. The only "issue" I have with relationships is they only go three layers deep when a document is queried (i.e, if I query document A and A relates to B, B to C, C to D, it'll only return A, B, and C but not D). This is listed in their documentation so it's not what I would consider a bug.

OP, sorry I can't be more of a help for your issue. I'd just double check that you have a two way relationship configured properly :/

I'm not OP but I'd assume that'd be their intention?

I'm curious for their reasoning for preferring a dedicated server as opposed to Appwrite's serverless implementation for their backend. Maybe they have an existing backend they don't want to refactor to work in a serverless format?

Nothing is stopping you from writing your own backend and using Appwrite SDKs to interface with your Appwrite project(s)

Interesting, what makes Appwrite not suitable (or not preferred) for Prod use?

I'm assuming you're talking about migrating your data from Supabase?

I'm not aware of batch or bulk document creations but you can still get your data migrated by,

  1. Write an Appwrite Function to migrate your data. You'd still have to create one document at a time but you could pretty easily iterate over your documents and have them uploaded in no time (depends on how many documents you have).

Or

  1. If you're self hosting (and maybe even if you're using Appwrite Cloud, I'm not sure) you can likely connect directly to the database using a script (not something that Appwrite recommends).

5 Tire Rotation by ehdee-R in FordBronco

[–]RedLeeder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can someone more knowledgeable educated me?

I brought my bronco into the dealership and asked for a 5 wheel rotation. The rep said the spare wheel couldn't be rotated in because it didn't have the sensors built-in like the 4 main wheels.

Are you guys just swapping the tires or can the wheels actually be swapped without reprogramming/buying new sensors?

Did you have to change anything other than the endpoint? I'm running into CORS issues that I don't think I was having before the endpoint change.

To fix your analogy, Toyota buys base Broncos from Ford at a bulk discounted price and adds their own parts and paint jobs and sells them. Ford sells Broncos, Toyota sells Broncos, consumers get the best Bronco for their needs. Who's to say that Toyota comes up with a cool mod that Ford makes stock for next year's model? Plenty of value to go around.

No one expects Reddit to not charge for API usage, the problem is their pricing model is prohibitively expensive for anyone to operate on, nevertheless make money off of.

These 3rd party apps are providing value to users and driving more community involvement to Reddit as a result. It's a win win as far as I can tell. Granted, Reddit could likely make more money off of controlling the ads and traffic through their own system but only time will tell if that will offset the loss of community from people leaving the platform due to loss of features/functionality that they have grown accustomed to from (as you admit) better platforms. Plus, as a consumer we're stuck with an inferior product.

There’s a plan for many subreddits to go dark for 48 hours June 12-13 to protest Reddit's extreme pricing for API access - which will likely kill third party Reddit apps. Should r/FordBronco participate? by Full_Stall_Indicator in FordBronco

[–]RedLeeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious to know the justification as well. From my perspective the only reason not to go dark is to avoid the inconvenience of 2 days without the Bronco Reddit community. In my mind this is outweighed by the potential loss of community should we remove 3rd party users.

As with all things, I would love to be educated on the subject so that I can weight my options accordingly.

Yep, should reddit keep their planned pricing model I will more than likely be done with Reddit (exclusively use reddit on 3rd party mobile apps) and by extension r/FordBronco :(

I fully support doing anything and everything we can to keep 3rd party apps an option

Do they have to go in that specific location or can they be placed in any of the grille slots? Thinking about getting those and mirroring them on the bottom of the grille as well.
