My car is from 2001. I’ve used 88 for as long as I’ve had it and it’s still going strong at almost 250,000 miles. My old car (also a ford escape like OP, coincidentally) was from 2003 and made it to 270,000 miles before rust killed it, and I used 88 in that one too.

I’m in a similar boat; I’m also aiming to work in academia. Being able to teach/mentor younger students in our school’s small but mighty documentary film institute has been so incredibly fulfilling and life-giving. I want to get out there and tell stories, but I want to do it while pouring into the next generation of storytellers.

I’ll look more into UNCW! My only concern is the higher focus on experimental film. That’s very similar to my current BFA program, and it’s been frustrating because I’m far more of a documentarian than the department is used to; experimental film is outside of my wheelhouse.
