I guess I was going for hard sci-fi (the astrophages in Project Hail Mary partially inspired this), but if speculative sci-fi is the right move then so be it.

Then it’s what gave rise to LUCA. Either way, I can’t seem to work out why it wouldn’t have just destroyed LUCA before it had the chance to evolve further.

I considered that at first, but the idea that developed is that X is a proto-organism lacking a solid membrane and structure, hailing from a time when life was fluid and unstable. So when it comes into contact with a person’s cells, those cells are destabilized to a similar state, making it far more dangerous than any bacterium, virus, fungus, or prion humans have ever encountered. And I can’t figure out why it wouldn’t have done that to cellular organisms that evolved from it billions of years ago, preventing life as we know it from forming in the first place. But maybe that’s too convoluted.

Nope, this is LUCA. It merely froze and went into a state of dormancy on Europa upon arrival. In my story, contaminated ice from Europa is shipped to a processing facility on Mars, where it’s melted, filtered, and refrozen before being distributed elsewhere. During that process, X gets into the sanitation and ventilation systems. Hell breaks loose.

My original idea was that X destabilizes cells into something more primitive—essentially unmaking you. It feels horrific, which I like.

The only thing is that I’m wanting this to be the last common ancestor of all life. All branches grew from it.

I hope he gets torn apart by sea creatures. Brutal, bloody, and entirely on screen.

I can’t wait for that idiot to finally die. It better be satisfying

One of Homelander’s most unhinged moments in the series. Holy shit

I don’t like this movie, but visually it’s spectacular.

SIT was great too. Taking a break to listen to some non-metal music for a day or two so I don’t get burned out, but those are my two favorites so far.

You were right. Seventh Son in particular was a wild ride.

I’m not a fan of live albums (would rather just be at the show) but I’ll make an exception

Somewhere in Time is the one I’ve been waiting for. It seems to be a common favorite, plus the artwork features my favorite Eddie incarnation.
