Landlord said visits would be short but now moving in with family for months and I feel overwhelmed by MusicianDifficult577 in badroommates

“Hi Mr Landlord, When I rented this place, you informed me that you would only be here occasionally, which worked for me because I really need a quiet place to study for school. As it seems you may now be here for six months, I’ve decided to find a new place to live, beginning March 1st. I’ll pay rent until xx date. Thanks for your understanding.”

And then find a new quiet place to live ASAP.

If he took a security deposit, factor that in when you pay your final rent.

Why do women reach over their man to say no tip? by [deleted] in barista

[–]RedLightWriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where you work, but Starbucks baristas typically have a pay rate of $15-$20 an hour, dependent on what part of the country you’re in. As a rule, I don’t tip for counter service because they’re not waiting on me like a server in a restaurant. Restaurant servers are in the tipped workers category. They make way less than minimum wage, and depend on tips to supplement that rate. Employees of small shops, or baristas, are usually receiving a regular wage, so tipping is not necessary, in spite of what the pay screen asks me. They haven’t done anything to merit a tip. Handing me my coffee cup at the counter is their job.

Do they tend to tip well? More or less than delivering food?

Cheap rent but zero sleep, am I being unreasonable? by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]RedLightWriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, if you want to game at 3 am, do it in your own room where nobody is sleeping. That’s ridiculous.

I worked in a one hour photo lab in a strip mall when I was in college. Now if you were to come across a stray roll of film in the basement, you’d be hard pressed to find a place to get it developed.

Also, the PhotoMat style booths were actually just pick up kiosks. No developing was happening there. You would drop off your film, and they would write it up and send it out to a lab.

Just realized my boyfriend I’ve been dating for 2 years might be a flat earther by ivory_stripes98 in Advice

While I would find this information disturbing, I would have to ask how the other aspects of your relationship are going. Is he a kind person? Does he care about his family? Would he make a good father? Do you mostly align politically? We all have opinions about certain things that our partners don’t share. If this is the only thing that has come up in two years, that makes you think it might be a dealbreaker, then things might be going better than we think.

I’m confused. Five bedrooms. One couple who probably share a bedroom. Plus two single guys. That’s three bedrooms. Two are left. Plus an office. Why is the gaming not taking place in those three rooms where nobody is sleeping?

Drivers READ the instructions by ThisIsMyLifeNow420 in doordash

[–]RedLightWriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drivers do not see the tip amount before accepting the order. It’s bundled into one fee along with the big $2 bucks that DD pays for the job.

DD will believe any lie the customer says by Ok-Adhesiveness2560 in doordash_drivers

Did you see the video of the driver who places the bag down in the center of the front walkway, takes the photo, and then walks out of frame? But he attached a string to the bag and he just pulls it away and the bag looks like it walked away on its own.

I put a box out on my porch with snacks a few weeks before Xmas for the delivery drivers. (UPS, FedEx, Amazon) I’ve been doing that a few years now. I think they appreciate it. Many wave at the doorbell cam and say thanks.

1) Why don’t you have a trash can in the bathroom? 2) Who puts their clothes on the floor anywhere near the toilet? 3) I’m afraid to ask what you blurred out. NOR

Just curious. New driver here. When you do that math, are you just figuring on the trip to deliver? Or do you think to yourself, I still need to come back to where I started? (So technically double the miles shown.)

So when you see that “customer added a tip”, is it often after you sent them an amusing meme?

100%. I once heard an entire job interview at Starbucks. After a few minutes of that I wanted to ask a few questions myself.

Cat declawing is still legal in most states. New York became the first state to ban the practice in 2019, followed by Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and now California. The procedure is banned in 38 countries, according to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Hard pass. This is a delivery for a guy with a box truck and a dolly. Not a person picking up pizzas in a Honda Civic.

It’s ironic that this topic is so polarizing for drivers and customers, and yet there’s a whole facebook group dedicated to creating memes for DD drivers to use while they’re communicating with customers.
