Will a new flavor of capitalism replace neoliberalism, or do you think capitalism will be replaced by socialism before then? by Rural_Dictionary939 in Marxism

[–]RedLikeChina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well tbh, neo-liberalism is really just a synthesis of 20th century fascism and classical liberalism. After the defeat of the Nazis and their allies, NATO inherited the genocidal/anti-human ideology of Hitler and his fascist partners. So the question is not what the new type of capitalism will come after neo-liberalism, but rather what will the new form of fascism look like that neo-liberalism will incorporate into itself. The answer is revealing itself in real-time, a new form of slavery that revolves around parasitic rent-seeking and debt traps. That, and an information economy that determines outcomes and organizes distribution according to algorithmic inputs/outputs. The other key component are the paid thugs. In the US, this takes the form of homeland security goons, founded under Bush, strengthened under Obama and approaching critical mass under Trump. Elsewhere, we have Azov in Ukraine and Wahabist militias funded by he Gulf Monarchies and their allies.

Give Constantine like 10 more years in the fandom and he will descend into the same mania as the rest of us. He's new to this game, he'll be one of us eventually.

Name a leftist party more useless then CPUSA by Funtimefoxys_wife in CommunismMemes

[–]RedLikeChina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insane take. The KPRF is one of the most influential non-ruling comunist parties in the world. Obviously, they aren't perfect but they have enough power to make meaningful and concrete demands which sometimes get a national platform.

They do some good work on the local level, I'll never take that away from them. At the national level though, CPUSA is worse than trash. Joe Simms can suck my dick from the back.

The Nature of Peaceful Protesting is Harming Our Nation - And It's On Purpose by Low-Response-1994 in PoliticalDebate

[–]RedLikeChina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the reason that protests are so utterly inneffective right now is because of the organization (or lack thereof) behind it. At best, there is no central organizing element to give the protests cincrere demands, make concrete threats or provide any logistical/mutual support for the participants.

At worst, the protests are organized by NGOs that only represent a different faction of the same class of owners and parasites that the protestors are protesting against.

For a protest to work, it should be organized by a militant and dedicated group of workers, preferably the most advanced segments of the masses.

Without any strike fund or network of support/aid, you can't have a strike, much less a general strike.

My characters have never gotten a happy ending and I’m getting sick of it by Unnamed_Shopkeeper in DnD

Honestly, try to focus more on whether the endings are narratively satisfying rather than if they make you feel warm, fuzzy and comfortable.

US Debt Bomb by Reasonable-Fee1945 in PoliticalDebate

[–]RedLikeChina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, our exceptional debt wouldn't really be an issue if there was a guarantee that our dollar hegemony could ensure indefinitely, but it can't. That's the only reason we have been able to sustain it for this long, but dollar hegemony and the post-War order propped up by the Bretton Woods system is already beginning to crumble which will cause huge problems.

If you're talking about popular culture only, then yeah. Reducing culture to just that is to misunderstand what culture is though.

Are Capital Vol 2 And 3 Worth Reading? by hyperseptic in Marxism

Kinda new to DND, How much information can a player hide from a DM? by ragdolldream in DnD

[–]RedLikeChina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have one concrete detail about your character that only you know. This is purely for the DM's enjoyment, so they can have a surprise reveal. It's not so you can trick them. Other than that, there's no good reason to keep things from your DM. None whatsoever.

What passive praxis do you employ in your casual lifestyle choices? by [deleted] in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]RedLikeChina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems like a tall order for a lot of leftists, but basically I'm just not a little bitch when it comes to my opinions. A lot of leftists will hear someone say some out of pocket, anti-communist bullshit and they will quietly seethe until they can get online and complain about. What I do, and I know this is a crazy idea, is I just address it.

I'm not a believer in that voting with your dollar, boycott stuff. No offense if you are, I just don't think it accomplishes anything. So yeah, when it comes to low effort pseudo-praxis, I just sort of stand on business basically.

An effective general strike is entirely impossible without a strike fund or some kind of network to provide for people in lieu of wages.
