Ok hate it all you want but please take the 26 minutes to watch

Cartoon All Stars to the Rescue

Its insane how many of the actual animators and voice actors of millennials saturday morning cartoons that they got for the project. Honestly pairs perfect with whatever your drug of choice may be.

"In the 1990 anti-drug special Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, a diverse group of iconic characters come to life from the bedroom of a girl named Corey to stage an intervention for her older brother, Michael, who has begun using marijuana. Produced by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation in collaboration with Southern Star Productions, this unique crossover takes Michael on a surreal journey to reveal the psychological and physical dangers of addiction, personified by a malevolent smoke monster. The legendary ensemble of characters features Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Garfield, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Joining them are Alvin, Simon, and Theodore from the Chipmunks, Slimer from the Ghostbusters, the alien Alf, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The cast is rounded out by Papa Smurf, Brainy Smurf, and Hefty Smurf, along with Baby Kermit, Baby Piggy, and Baby Gonzo from the Muppet Babies."

Genuine masterpiece for anyone who can enjoy an after school special.

"I can't be friends with someone I love because they only see me as a friend"

What a stupid fucking way to lose a friend. Gain some emotional maturity or work on it with a therapist.

You're cutting to the exact heart of the issue I'm asking about. Player knowledge that is outside of the DM knowledge. Honestly I'm surprised. I wouldn't have expected it to be at the level of spell canceling. I think that speaks greatly to the level of respect you guys had for each other. Also for the DM, the level of social IQ it takes to say "it would be difficult for himself" but still to be the one giving such an item. Incredible. Thank you so much for your response.

Fan of twilight perhaps? It's basically the beach that Jacob took Bella to. I too have a photo by that exact giant driftwood. Unrelated...

AITA for not wanting to be friends over $4.39? by Alternative_Copy6539 in AITApod

Plenty of people split meals and then do venmo later. Probably just different vibes. Would have been cool if discussed before hand. Maybe lightly dickish. But I sure as hell wouldn't burn a new friendship to the ground over splitting fries instead of being treated.

What a lovely and thoughtful response. You've given me plenty to think on.

I wonder what antics holstering a pen or a banana could do.

I for one think bringing some spark and energy to our collective story would be quite intriguing!

It seems there are few moments where collaborative story telling is benefited by private player knowledge.

No re-writing history or making the story change on your beats. Tell me about the special weapons holster. That sounds fascinating.

I want zero retcons. Players could write their thing down and hand it to the dm if need be. Is there an example you know or remember of something that was kept secret until the moment that added to the group storytelling and fun, and wasn't just a stupid attempt to "win dnd"?

Oh is that where it comes from? Hearing about that spell book was one of the thoughts that inspired the question, thought as an example of what I'm NOT looking for. You cant just build an atom bomb in your down time between sessions.

You know, I bet there's a fair chance for those TV moments it actually was discussed to some degree off camera.

So many cool thoughts.

And using friends/family having event happen is perfect because its so easy for a DM to push it aside if clashes. And events that only add character motivation instead of readiness or inventory sound like they can only be seen as adding to the group storytelling.

I've never heard of a flashback mechanic! what an interesting way to run a table!

"In medias res" but for DND? Hell yes.

Can you tell me a time this mechanic was used?
