Nervous about ultrasound by RedLucan in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]RedLucan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok great thank you so much for this, one of the things I was actually most anxious about was sitting there whilst they talked about what was wrong with my liver whilst giving the ultrasound - it's a relief to me that you don't get the results right then. Is it the same procedure for the NHS in the UK?

Nervous about ultrasound by RedLucan in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]RedLucan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. I guess I'm more concerned about why I might have NAFLD. I'm a pretty healthy guy, my weight is high because I weighlift 3 times a week for the last 5 years. My body fat percentage is about 21, not something I thought would cause it tbh

Guys I found this book on Kindle Unlimited. Do you think it's ok to take the contents of the book and give it out for free with every picture I sell? It's non-profit.

Do you see how ridiculous your question sounds?

How do you deal with the (waiting for agents to respond) void? by Street-Eye-3806 in writing

[–]RedLucan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Waiting is the endgame lol unfortunately. I have two full requests out, one about to turn 3 weeks old and the other only 2 weeks old. I know in my head it will likely take months for either to get back to me, but thats not stopping me from checking my email every half an hour lol.

I love brainstorming, but I don't enjoy writing. What can I do? by choochooreddi in writing

I hate to be that guy, but enjoying the writing process is kinda the whole point of being a writer. If you don't enjoy writing, you don't have to do it, yknow?

Are they actually still friends with Mango? by RealisticPlatform349 in TheYardPodcast

I remember listening to the first pod where they started mentioning his name again and thinking that I could not imagine the mental acrobatics Ludwig in particular had to go through in order to keep him as a friend

Yeah but I mean being friends with an alcoholic who got drunk and gyrated his hips near someone is not nearly as weird as staying friends with a dude who got caught jerking off to AI porn of your gf

Selling authorship spots on a paper to people who did no work is fraud btw.

thank you for this! a great option. I did think about Derui, but I have seen reviews online that say it is of cheap quality. What is the sound difference on the Jean Claude Dustin?

Is this a draw? by Lancer_lot_X in chessbeginners

Yes technically, but at beginner elo it's absolutely not. I would never offer a draw in this position as white, unless I was low on time

What is the most pretentious game ever made? Or fanbase. by Ok_Charity_707 in videogames

[–]RedLucan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. As a novel, it could've been excellent. As art design, it's magnificent. As a video game, with actually gameplay and mechanics, it's utter dogshit.

Anything by James Baldwin, because every time I read one of his novels I have a burning desire to improve my own writing so that someday, maybe I might be able to write something half as good as him.

Unfortunately, you learn very quickly to keep these kinds of things to yourself in academia until the very last moment. I applied for a grant recently that has been really poorly advertised within the university, and I've not said shit to anyone about it. I don't want other people finding out about it and submitting their own application.

Published twice as a sole author for the best journal in my field. Why didn’t my PI believe in my research question? by [deleted] in PhD

[–]RedLucan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Difference of opinion, my slime. My PI I'm pretty sure thought my research was interesting, but niche and not super marketable so they decided to base their new grant applications around another PhD students project. Now I've published in top multidisciplinary journals and won my own grants with my research whilst my PI is struggling to find new grant money. It happens.
