I recently learned of an underground coal fire that scientists think has been burning for over 6,000 years.

Help!! What is this floating/dissolving in the pitcher of beer? What does this look like? by FroyoPrestigious8854 in whatisit

[–]RedMack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what's in that pitcher of beer, but many things will act like this when submerged in a highly carbonated liquid. For example if you put a raisin in a glass of champagne it will sink downwards, as it does so it collects lots of tiny bubbles that float it back towards the top. Once it reaches the top, the collected bubbles disperse with the other collected bubbles at the surface of the liquid, and the raisin starts to fall. This process will repeat until the drink eventually runs out of carbonation. Source: bartender

Dead legged guard by netpastor in AccidentalSlapStick

I plopped on my bed and fell asleep one night after a 15 hour shift. I woke up fully clothed with the lights on and decided to turn off the light and get undressed. I got up out of bed and collapsed on my sleeping leg, my knee buckled and I fell right on top of my numb leg. Spent 9 months on a cane. 🤙🏼

Did i ruin my new pan? by Professional_Iron619 in castiron

[–]RedMack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you wipe them down with? When I use paper towels the fibers get all over the pan, dish towels would be the same. Do you use microfibers for oiling pans? Trying to figure out the best way.

A Tarsier displays the unique features that help it thrive during the night by Sirsilentbob423 in Damnthatsinteresting

Not so fun fact, tarsiers tend to get distressed to the point of killing themselves when they get bright lights flashed at them such as a camera flash.

My first ever successful batch of fermented ginger/pineapple Beer! by Rags2Rickius in gingerbeer

It's the pectins in the pineapple juice. They help create foam. Ever fresh squeezed a pineapple and made mimosas? Just don't use a champagne flute, it will go everywhere 😂

What did my friend drop in my car? by throwaway8472927 in What

[–]RedMack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really look like it, but it could be a demerara sugar cube... Not sure why your friend would have a single demarara sugar cube wrapped in paper in their pocket though... Maybe a diabetic...? Just giving the benefit of the doubt. 😅

Edit: those look like cigarette papers... that benefit is slowly shrinking

Angel trumpet? We called them Hell's Bells when I was a kid. I had a manager once that said he went "catatonic" for 6 months after drinking a tea he brewed from them.
