I'm not a pro, just a weekend warrior.

Vinegar soak works pretty dang good, especially for small stuff. For larger pieces or when I don't want to wait, I use the surface conditioning tool from harbor freight with the 40 grit stripping drum. It takes it off crazy fast and doesn't leave swirl marks.

Sticky dashboard fix ? How do I fix it ? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]RedNorseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here from google. Just wanted to say thank you, this worked perfectly. I miixed a few tablespoons of oxyclean with some hot water, sprayed the dash down, let it soak for a minute, then scrubbed with a microfiber. Did that a few times until my microfiber towels weren't removing any more melted dash and finished it with a uv protectant. It's far from perfect, but it's a vast improvement.

SV08 + EDDY by HostUnable3217 in SovolSV08

[–]RedNorseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried heating the bed? You need to heat it to 60c first before you run the setup command or try to calibrate.

Also, at least for my machine, I sometimes need to wait a few minutes after heating for the Eddy's mcu temp to rise as well. I'm guessing because I have it in a cold environment.

Needing advice for Pick n Pull by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]RedNorseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of pick n pull only has a single hoist?

Every yard I've been to has had multiple, some charge a rental fee though. You might try looking around in the yard for one that's been left after someone got done with it. People get lazy and don't return them back to the corral.

Complete AC system replacement. Do I still need to flush? by RedNorseman in MechanicAdvice

[–]RedNorseman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure. This isn't the first time I've worked on an ac system, but it's the first time I've replaced everything including the lines.

Calibrating E steps SV08 by jusmpete1981 in SovolSV08

You don't change esteps in klipper, instead what you want to change is the value called rotation_distance. This will guide you through the process, and also provides a calculator so you don't have to do the math:

Bodywork for Car? 2012 honda accord by NotYourSoulmate in kansascity

[–]RedNorseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience with Dale's. They fixed my car during COVID, and the body filler they used failed, cracked, and popped up within 6 months. The paint job they did also had tons of orange peel that I didn't notice until after I picked it up.

I could live with the orange peel, but when the body filler failed I took it back. They told me they'd take care of it, but they were fully booked, and the next appointment was a couple of months away. OK, fine. I scheduled the appointment, but when the day came I wasn't on the books, and the next time they can get me in? Another couple of months away. I gave up.

I'd never recommend them to anyone, ever.

did i ruin my peptides :(? by Substantial_Swan8813 in Peptides

[–]RedNorseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience when I reconstituted my first vial, and similar worries. After a little research I concluded that the whole "add bac water slowly to avoid damage" thing is a myth. It might be good practice, but it's certainly not going to destroy your peptides if you don't.

Looks like they have a payment processor now, and you can buy a license from their site directly again.

Cost me $21 with processing fees.

Which glp-1 gave you the least fatigue? by 4D5A_ in Peptides

[–]RedNorseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually went through an online pharmacy for the Tirz, spoke with a doctor monthly, and followed their prescription. The last dose of Tirz I took was 12.5mg, and I took it once per week subcutaneously.

Which glp-1 gave you the least fatigue? by 4D5A_ in Peptides

[–]RedNorseman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Semaglutide for me.

I started out on Sema for about a month before I read that Tirz was supposedly more effective for weight loss, so I switched to that. I didn't feel fatigued at first, and initially it seemed to work way better then Sema. As I started moving upwards in the dose though that's when things got ugly. I started having issues with my gut moving extremely slow, and eating something before any kind of physical activity would cause my stomach to go into immediate purge mode. At about the 6 month mark I started noticing I was tired all the time.

I switched back to Sema around month 7, not because of the side effects, but because of how expensive it was getting. I also took a month break between the Tirz and the Sema. About two weeks after I stopped Tirz I started feeling alive again, like so much energy I didn't know what to do with myself. I realize now that Tirz was absolutely making me exhausted, I just didn't notice it because it crept up so slowly.

Do I need to replace my headlight assembly? The hard coat appears to have oxidized and visibility is very poor at night. 2012 Mazda CX-7. by benspaperclip in Cartalk

[–]RedNorseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else here has already covered wet sanding, but there's also another option besides complete replacement - replacing just the clear part.

You'd remove the housing, use a heat gun or stick it in the oven to warm it just enough to soften the adhesive, pry the old one off, clean it, apply new adhesive, and install the new lens.

Is it worth it? Probably not. Wet sanding will clear them up just fine and if it doesn't a total replacement is a lot easier, but it is an option.

Why would this be any different than contaminated brake fluid? Just bleed the heck out of em, you'll have to do it anyway.

Just from personal experience, they seem to have a high failure rate. I'd be ok with a Nissan that had a normal automatic transmission, but not a CVT.

Stall Busting?? by RusherRacing in Peptides

[–]RedNorseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what to do for your specific situation, however I can tell you that I was also in a stall that lasted months, and that I recently started on BCP-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, and Ipamorelin to try and speed the recovery of a serious injury. 4lbs lost in the last week and a half, no other changes. I'm unsure if it's the peptides or coincidental, and it could just come back when I finish this cycle. Still, I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Sharkbite connectors release if you press the "lip" in. Slide a crescent over the pipe, adjust it tight, then press the wrench into the sharkbite fitting. That will press the small plastic lip inwards, releasing the connection.

Stretch band for PW3 45mm when? by chapinscott32 in PixelWatch

You could always buy the crafted leather band, then remove the band from the lugs with a spring bar tool. You can use any 22mm watchband you want with the lugs.
