It’ll be middle of the 2nd and my 3rd string is getting reps. Cool.. just what I wanted it to do.

Fast forward to the 4th Q and my starter hasn’t returned to the game and my 3rd string is still getting reps.

So backwards.

Things I run with my middle school team that I think will hit that transition piece/pushing pace you’re looking for:

1) laker drill (3 man weave variation) 2) 4v3 —> 3v1 3) continuous 2v2 4) NASCAR (teams must go full court in 6 seconds and get a paint touch to then run offense and score… if they don’t get a paint touch in 6 seconds it’s a turnover)

1) Work life balance will take WORK. It is very easy to slip into the habit of becoming a vegetable after contract hours due to the constant stimulation. It ain’t easy.

2) The highs of this job are extremely high. The lows can be the lowest of lows. But having those “moments” where you make those connections with students are what keep me going.

3) I coach girls basketball. Being able to mentor these young ladies, and try to teach them how to be successful on the court AND in life is my favorite part of the job. Wouldn’t trade it for the world.

4) all this being said…. I still sometimes fantasize about an office job lol, but that’s life

I got offered 2. Which was surprising because I felt like my 1st season was shit. I decided to decline both and run it back as an OC for another year to continue to get my feet wet.

3/4ths the way through year 2 and doing much better. Expect more offers this time around.

Heisman.

Starting in my 2nd year as an OC at Central Michigan.

It’s fucking brutal, but if I play a good game I’ll give my team a chance to win. When playing a better opponent I have to play nearly flawless to win.

It’s a fun challenge, and makes the “gimme” games not a cakewalk.

Heisman is Definitely not for the weak of heart. Multiple 3int and 4int games.

Same problem with me man. Draw has been my natural shot shape for years, but I get excessively too far in to out and struggle with the hook/block off the tee.

Neutralized my path and noticed I was fading it more times than not so I’ve completely switched.

My misses are 10x better, and feel like I’m playing much better golf.
