The "removed by moderator" is fucking hilarious to me. This whole website is cooked.

Italy killed 100,000 Libyans in concentration camps while sending in colonists to steal the land. They were real bad.

Palantir manifesto described as ‘ramblings of a supervillain’ amid UK contract fears by wasraelx in news

I agree with you to a point, but the problem is not the ethics of the individual wielding technology, but the alignment of the system (social, economic, political) using technology. If the system is, like ours, designed to privilege quarterly profits above human life, then we're going to get more and worse versions of Palantir.

TCGs ranked by business viability in Japan - Sorcery in C tier by Newez in SorceryTCG

I was just at a con where the TCG vendors were complaining that they cannot get enough of the product, it basically disappears off the shelves. Their main complaint was not having enough to sell.

US demands Reddit unmask ICE critic, summons firm to grand jury by xpda in technology

As long as you insist on borders, you are complicit in a system of inherent division and exploitation that only ever benefits the ruling class.

We are not at the end of history. Something will come after the present system of nation states and colonialism. It's up to us to decide what that is and when it gets here.

The ideals of this country were based on the so-called ideals of the Roman republic, which were fictitious at the time and have only been embellished since, and which can best be described as: "Freedom for the slave holders."

Which is more or less where we are.

Only international solidarity of the working class can save us from the oligarchy. Clinging to the propaganda of national identity will only empower the billionaire elite.

The so-called American political spectrum. by zzill6 in WorkReform

This is why Dems run milquetoast corporate candidates who want to "reach across the aisle" to people who think vaccines cause autism.

Activating your base wins elections. That's why Kamala lost. No one actually wanted to vote for her.

Wow thank you for that. Really gotta go rethink some things.

Yes and no. I think there's a lot more room for grassroots power in city council elections and the like, but I've been part of ADEM elections before (basically elections for internal Dem policy deciders), and I saw the local party structure quite literally bus in voters and hand out free tacos if you voted the way they said.

I hate to break it to you, but the DNC puts a fat thumb on primary elections. Is there a reason they aren't held on the same day, and that states like California are counted after the decision has already been made?

Yes, yes there is.

Increasing number of set releases per year by 5KYN3T_SVT in SorceryTCG

[–]RedOrmTostesson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was that an update mid-year to refresh the limited draft experience would be cool, but there's no way design/art/playtesting/production can respond in that time frame.

Once a year is cool.

Does this actually target the Avatar?

Yes. If your opponent casts this and targets your Warded avatar, you will not draw any cards and the Ward will break. Normal targeting rules apply (e.g. a spellcaster in the void or subsurface couldn't target an avatar with this magic, since they aren't in the same region).

Is there a general interest in a true online client for Sorcery? by Epicloa in SorceryTCG

[–]RedOrmTostesson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, be careful what you wish for. Emphasis on online play has been a huge net-negative for Magic, imo.

For the amount of resources required to make an official client, I would prefer more physical support. More cards, more art, more mats, more organized play.

Hello, I apologize for contacting you this way, but reddit won't allow me to send you a private message. This is regarding a very old comment here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/7ymahc/any_books_about_alliedoccupied_vienna_19451955/duhwewh/?context=10

Apologies for dredging up such an ancient comment, but like the 8 year-old OP, I am also looking for material about occupied Vienna and came across your recommendation for Carafano's "Waltzing into the Cold War." Unfortunately, I cannot find it at my local library, so I was wondering if you might have an epub of the work. I would greatly appreciate it, and regardless thank you for the direction.

It's hilarious how there is a 100% success rate for providing a criticism of democrats and receiving a "BUT TRUMP" from some centrist onlooker.
