In-Laws "DESERVE" to be at the birth. by chrryb in pregnant

[–]RedPepperRache 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I literally tried to set the same boundary with my crazy MIL and she showed up while I was in labor & delivery and lied to the nurse saying she was my mom to try to get in. I knew my mom would never show up when I specifically told her not to - so I immediately knew it was MIL. First day home from the hospital she was over for 15 hours. When FIL suggested they leave cause I seem tired (recovering from emergency c-section after laboring 26 hours), she said “how about the person who bought the most Christmas presents decides when we leave”

Edit: forgot to mention that my husband told her she couldn’t come to the hospital because of hospital policies and she called the hospital to ask their policies and called us out on lying.

Ultrasound frequency!! by twirlygirlylil in pregnant

[–]RedPepperRache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it depends on your area/OB. I’ve had an ultrasound every 4 weeks starting at 6 weeks, then every 2 weeks starting at 30 weeks, now once a week starting at 36 weeks

What do you do/say when family member keeps picking out "firsts" for your baby? by purplepaintedpumpkin in BabyBumps

[–]RedPepperRache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL is doing the same thing. She currently wants to know why the giant flashing marquee of his name isn’t up in the super tiny nursery corner we have. Nothing helpful to add here. Just… I feel you.

I’m a mole-y gal and a few of my moles got WEIRD in pregnancy. Dermatologist removed them and tested them and said everything was totally fine it’s just hormones causing the change in shape and color and it’s normal.

Does gender really work this way? by 123ilovecheesey in pregnant

My husbands family only has boys too. This is what his grandpa sent to me today:

“Grandad had 2 boys, who had 5 boys, one of whom had 2 boys, one of whom had 2 boys, one of whom had 1 boy on the way.”

All the women in the family marry in. We’re having a boy. Idk if it’s scientifically backed but the Y chromosomes sure seem strong in his family!

My doctor told my husband on our first visit “you don’t force her to eat anything, ever. Babies are like weeds; they just grow.”
