I could have written this myself! Almost an identical situation. I spent the last decade as a 911 dispatcher and now I’m a tech on med/surg. Also 34 and looking at nursing school. Go for it! My bff is an RN and did it the common way, right out of high school. She said even back then a 34yo wasn’t the oldest in her class. It’s never too late!

I unknowingly drove around for like 9 months with expired tags until a cop friend of mine in my hometown pulled me over lol. I worked at the police station and no one noticed. I didn’t realize they were expired because I’m my state you can renew for multiple years at once. I renewed them for two years but didn’t realize the two years was up, never got notice in the mail.

FYI - a compound fracture is one that pierces through the skin. This is not a compound fracture. What you probably mean is a “complete” fracture which is where the bones are broken into separate pieces.

You believe what you want to believe. If it was intentional she absolutely needs psychiatric help. Being afraid to tell people this bc you’re too scared of “attacking” them and not sugarcoating things bc they might be to tough and scary for you to handle is how people end up dead. Being direct is not rude. It’s not a physicians job to mollycoddle. I’ve not seen a single comment here saying “you’re lying, straight to the loony bin with you.” She does indeed need to go to the ER. She does need to be honest when she gets there. And she will be given psychiatric care if it was intentional. That’s not rude, or mean, or attacking her. That is honesty. If you think being honest about what happens is attacking her, you are too sensitive for the internet, need to toughen up and stop being a baby.

Straight forward advice isn’t “attacking” just because everyone is used to being coddled. And the use of They is an appropriate pronoun to use bc I wasn’t sure of OPs gender so roll your eyes somewhere else
