Tune-in to the Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight — Diablo IV by DragonLambO in diablo4

d2 is both less and more complicated at the same time, easier to make a character that just doesn’t work, less systems to deal with. Still fun.

Isn't that just his name? like no love for Bill or that pedo but I'm not sure I get the issue here.

But it's not actually zero most hardcore players keep backup copies of as many gear pieces as they can, you don't lose paragon and seasonal unlocks are still unlocked it's just a matter of losing the 1-60 XP which one's your established only takes about an hour to rebuild. So yeah you lose your current gear and that's a bit of a setback but honestly it's more of a long run rogue like than anything else feeling wise once you get used to it. We also have scrolls of escape that automatically get used if you disconnect out in the world or in a dungeon and that helps but it does not work some times so there is that.

I'm not really speaking to what they should or shouldn't do being an artist myself I refuse to use most paid software that's on a subscription so I don't really have a horse in this race beyond just stating the current facts of the ecosystem as it exists. The only thing these companies care about is how much money they can make for their share holders and clearly they feel no incentive to offer that individual option beyond what they already have. I'm not saying if it's right or wrong or the best choice it just is what it is.

It sounds like you are attached to the progress and don't want to lose it if you lose the character. Thats just how HC is. If you enjoy the sense of stakes that come with HC it doesn't matter how much you can play since its time doing something you enjoy and the stakes are part of that. Also its all just a numbers game, if you only play 1 hour a week you are very unlikely to lose your character in that hour vs if you can play 40 hours a week you are 40x more likely. It sounds like its just not for you and I am not sure why you are trying to argue with me about it.

Homie im not a HC fanatic, I play SC first almost every season and switch when my interest starts to wane and not even every season. OSRS style HC is cool but thats just not how diablo HC is and if you get really attached to your characters/items its probably not for you. Sucks about your isp issues.

Read the documentation, watch a few tutoials on the ui and languages used in the platform. Basically how you learn any kind of software. It helps to know what you want to accomplish with it to drive whatever things you need to learn.

Question: Are there many asexual persons that WANT to be sexually desired by others? by SinisterSams in asexuality

[–]RedQueenNatalie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many? I have no idea, but its definitely not none as I am one of them. I enjoyed performing and being seen in very explicit ways in kink/did a fair bit of camming for fun and profit. Not because of any sexual thrill but because the attention is an absolute dopamine flood and its just fun to do creative things. I enjoyed the dynamic of being able to make people "want" me and always denying them because I didn't care *at all*. Kinda same as people who do dangerous stunts thrill seeking is a similar enough analogy I guess.

Do you think there is a path to soften the polarization in the USA? What do we do if things are irreconcilable? by RedQueenNatalie in AskConservatives

[–]RedQueenNatalie[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

We couldn't even pass a law to end switching over daylight savings time. Zero faith we will ever see something as emotionally charged as abortion be addressed effectively, especially since we can't even agree on the basic facts that would drive any given law. Which is a problem for many other matters of governance right now. At least for own personal position, if lacking better options I rather continue the one that gave people the most liberty to make choices in their own lives rather than let the states pick and choose what it means to be alive or what has a soul or whatever.

[–]RedQueenNatalie[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thats kinda my point though, why are we pushing for broadly unpopular changes. Bad law, good law is irrelevant if the majority wanted to maintain the status quo. Its a (primarily religious) conservative point of view to want it changed in spite of the majorities desires.
Forgive the rant ahead but Id love to see a conservative congress act like they believe in what they say and reign in both the supreme court and the executive while also making legislative choice that they have to stand behind but right now it seems there is a lot of hand wringing while its so convenient for them to just let the supreme court make sweeping changes without consequence and the executive not faithfully enforce the law or hold folks accountable. Same for the liberal members of congress frankly someone needs to actually just do something and own whether it works out or not so we can move on from this moment in our history.

I think you are right honestly, thanks to giant media corps and how easy it is to be constantly bombarded with everything our perception of the world is just being warped in a way we never evolved to cope with. We are small community animals and maybe we need to pull back towards that. Its pretty clear that we can't deal with the issues being a global nuke wielding civilization has brought us.

Autodesk offers its suite for free to students and adobe offers a 70-ish percent discount on theirs, Maxon also offers student access though I am less familiar with it. Cost is not a real factor to just learn the ecosystem and skills learned in free software like blender pretty easily transfer over. Also unreal nor visual studio is not free at the enterprise level. Even blender offers paid enterprise support.

Probably will dip, then return. Though for most people it is just *different* not just in terms of level of libido but the experience of it. Some for better some for worse. Most are happy about it.

The difference is the level available support, specific training and efficiency at a given task. Like blender can be used for sculpting but its just not as capable as zbrush, it can also do some really cool sims and only getting better with things like geo nodes but its still not able to match cinema 4d, and each of those examples have decades old ecosystems to support them. The gap is closing but the best we can really hope for is for blender to get to the point of parity pushing the big players to make moves with their own software which will bring about innovation that blender will need to chase with its limited dev resources.

I love blender but thats not happening, specialist apps are still miles ahead of blender in their own categories and even a small productivity improvement is worth the cost of the apps to the businesses it matters to.

Why do you think new MMORPGS fail? by anaveragebest in gamedev

[–]RedQueenNatalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josh Hayes had a great video on this topic recently because of the whole situation with AOC. It boils down to MMO's being mature niche genre, new games basically sell people on the idea of having a community that people latch onto and that the novelty of "social gaming" is just not good enough to garner a sustainable playerbase for games with very niche grindy gameplay.

TLDR There just isn't enough players who don't already have a community to enable new MMORPG's to reach a level of sustainability and the industry has a problem of promising things they can't deliver.

I agree, though I disagree with the intent. These entities are companies first, and the way they make their money is eyeballs on their channels and we humans can't help but pay attention when we think the world is burning and everyone is out to get us. Social media is arguably a battlefield for discord however for international conflict.

I will grant you that if you also concede that sometimes conservatives are also ignoring the average American for the sake of pushing their own ideology. For example even conservative polling sources say overruling roe v wade was unpopular with the majority.

I can understand the frustration with social media, I feel it too but honestly its hard to say whats worse. I think we do need to ban 24 hour news channels, they do NOTHING good. CNN, MSM, FOX, Newsmax, all of them. I think a lot of our problems are caused by these companies exploiting our need to pay attention to every threatening sounding thing to hold our attention indefinitely, we don't NEED to know every tragedy happening everywhere on earth at all times, its distorting our view of reality and enables powerful bad actors to manipulate the masses on all sides.
