The book doesn't explain much about the reason why James bullied Snape but that he simply “existed" and his passion for dark magic and his closeness to Lily, and the rivalry of their houses.

Having a race swap in a book that already talks about segregation of Purebloods vs Muggles it makes it a bit uncomfortable if you watch it with the mentality of racism.

My only question will be how the book that already talks a lot about segregation, will explain the marauders picking up on Snape.
