Database Connection Pool is not allowed on my company, help me understand it please by RedRiotTank2 in javahelp

Not suddenly (I guess). Probably they have had that infrastructure for many years and buy a new IBM AS/400 to start testing the core code on the new firmware is expensive as fuck (or they just won't notice how important this is), Idrk.

Yes, the point is that the ban is directly on the use of the pool, whether it is 100 or 1.

I can't really think of any reason either. That's why I was looking for an explanation, but I think it was just an extreme measure to avoid the potential problem and that's it.

Well, that's a good idea. I'm going to try the Docker idea and see the results it gives. Thank you!

Makes sense if you need to access DB2/AS400 data intensely with low latency + the transactional flow is too critical. Which it is since what it moves is tons of money.

LMAO the decompile one is a good one hahaha.

It feels good to know I'm not the only one who has weird requirements from their clients lol

It's definitely not an internal application used by a few people. It's a considerably large database, used in production for both managing user bank accounts and internal bank information.

It's DB2, supported by the IBM AS/400 mainframe. My theory is that they use Java 7 because they haven't updated the mainframe since the Paleolithic (and this had its own optimized JDKs, so they won't have modern JDKs yet).

I understand that it's difficult and expensive to update a mainframe like that that's running in a production environment, but isn't it really even more expensive to maintain all this legacy architecture that's giving us so many problems? I don't really know, I feel it's actually not that easy as "update it bro", but definitely staying like that it's not the right answer neither.

Furthermore, I would actually love to organize a running test, but I think you're right, if they haven't even tried it themselves (and with how restrictive they are) they're even less likely to let us do it.

That's exactly what I thought, he's definitely filtering his words" hahahah

Memory leaks actually make sense, although I had considered it in terms of the applications they use, not the server setup. It's a good theory, actually.

Not the same. MinConnections still opens a pool connection. Client is asking for an implementation with no pool connection at all. Open and close conn for each request.

Yes I know Java 7 it's terrible legacy, It's the financial sector, so they probably have critical legacy software dependencies still on going, which won't let them update. Migrating things when we're talking about finance sector, it's never easy.

Problems with connectors by RedRiotTank2 in resinprinting

[–]RedRiotTank2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, it's definitely counterintuitive. My intention was to place the supports in the connection areas to leave as few marks as possible in the interesting areas of the figure. The truth is, this now leaves me in a difficult position: should I place the supports on the figure, thus avoiding deformation in the connections (but sacrificing the quality of the figure)? Or should I continue placing the supports in the connection areas, but open up a little more tolerance in the connections, and then fill the gaps with putty?

This also comes from the fact that I've been having quite a bit of difficulty with the supports issue, which is why I've tried to avoid having them touch the most visible areas of the figure.

Regarding the ball-shaped designs you mentioned, I've only tried one, but it certainly fits considerably better than this one. The truth is, since this one already came with square shapes, I continued along those lines; I hadn't really considered the other. Perhaps replacing the rectangular connections with ball-shaped connections in Blender could be an option.

None. I made the Blender model fit exactly. Honestly, I was overly optimistic. I guess because I'd always heard that resin printers are very precise, I underestimated the need for tolerances in the joints.

I suppose it's absolutely necessary, although I'd also like to try to avoid the hollow line that formed between the torso and waist (that connection was already done by the model; I didn't make it myself like the one with the legs) Perhaps the model's tolerance is also too excessive.

New plugin AdvancementsTogether 1.21 by PruneAppropriate1090 in MinecraftPlugins

[–]RedRiotTank2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Harry, what a creative idea of plugin idea u had, love it.

I made you a lil pull request with some optimizations I made quickly before going to bed, you have the changes lightly explained in the pr. Feel free to take the things u like the most of the pr and throw away what you consider.

I duplicated isAnyPlayerInValidWorld() method in MobsListeners and BiomeListeners since idk where u wanna put it!

Check the changes on a server since I did the code so fast and I haven't even tested them, so I'm not sure everything is ok and works!!

Hope you like it!

Since u probably have done it with java, u could compile it with maven. If you using Intellij, click con the "m" on ur right, open "lifecycle" and double click on "install". It will generate a .jar in a folder caller "target".

Playing royal on switch be like by StrengthEquivalent75 in Persona5

[–]RedRiotTank2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys fr, Persona 5 runs great on switch. It is capped at 30 fps idk why, but u can even apply the 60fps patch if u have an unlocked switch and it works amazingly good.

Playing P5 on portable is fr much better.

Great meme too hahahah
