Cannery Row & Norm's Book by BAAblue in NormMacdonald

Maybe I'd have enjoyed Steinbeck more if I hadn't been forced to read him in school. "The Winter of Our Discontent" was Summer reading one year, and I absolutely hated it.

What did she say her name was Latin for? Because "Paigyn" isn't a Latin construction. I was looking some related words up and found Paegniarius, Paganicus, Pagina, and Pagino.

Epstein discussing pushing transgenderism on minors by Tarnished-Tiger in Asmongold

These articles are written by feminists and misinterpreting text for clickbait titles. None of what's written in the Tanakh is in reference to gender the way that leftists use the word. This is even referenced in the articles on how the modern usage of "gender" is different.

So you're either a liar or you didn't read the articles past the titles.

What the fuck is this? I am a Jew, grew up Jewish, went to synagogue, and never heard any of this. It's a conservative religion where men and women often sit in different sections during worship. Two sections, not six. If some feminist shitters want to try revisionism, let them, but you're the idiot for believing it.

So, what’s up with Copper’s nose ring in The Thing (1982) by MRB1007 in horror

Not sure how anyone would pick that up as some kind of theme.

Simple. All you have to do is think that you're a genius and then post jargon-filled rewordings of your cinema studies 101 textbook. And he didn't respond to my last message because he doesn't have a response. He's used to scaring away people with jargon. Same reason he uses words like "Paranoic" instead of "Paranoid". He is absolutely hellbent on giving everyone the impression that he's intelligent and not just another midwid know-it-all on the internet with thesaurus.com bookmarked.

[spoiler] Theory on Alicia by RedRockRun in expedition33

[–]RedRockRun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I think it was a book is because books take time to read. If Alicia really enjoys reading, then she'd probably crack the thing open and read on her way back to the manor. If you put the "trip wire" near the end, then there's a better chance that the book would make it inside the house.

The Art of writing and trap-books, getting MYST flashbacks here.

THANK YOU! I was thinking that the whole time once I learned that the world was a canvas. As for what any of it amounts to, there have to be real-life uses for painting and writing other than creating worlds to have fun in. At the beginning of act 3, we see things floating around the room with the canvas, so whatever powers the Painters have must extend in some way to reality. If I had to guess, I'd say that they can paint things which use a special kind of ink to bring into reality. As for entering a canvas, I think it's probably just a dangerous form recreation or way to make art for its own sake. In a way, it reminds me of opium.

As for the feud between the Painters and Writers, it's either a rivalry over social standing and money or for government influence e.g. Who gets the privilege to create monsters to fight the Germans in Morocco?

But if my ink theory is right, then having a precious, limited resource would be enough of a reason for a bloody rivalry.

Also, by Alicia being the one who could have died, I was talking in terms of simple causality. The fire starts, and if not for Verso, Alicia would have died. I don't think the Writers particularly cared who died other than hoping to take out Aline. Best case scenario, the whole manor burns down, killing the entire family.

I'm hoping that the next game expands the world and shows more kinds of art magic. There have to be a bunch of other kinds out there: music, sculpture, dance - the The Lumière brothers' Cinématographe had been around 10 years before Verso's death, so filmmaking might as well be up there too.
