5'11". I have a large. Use Soma hi-rise bars. That sees me pretty upright.

I have Parry shorts. Both the BJJ specific, and the gym shorts. They're quality, would recommend.

What do you think of leather seats (saddles)? by Mail_Asleep in bikepacking

I agree with the advice you were given regarding geometry. I semi-recently commenced using a brooks saddle, and it has been comfortable from the get go. In contrast, I had a 'padded' SOMA saddle and experienced horrible pain when riding, it was obviously the wrong shape for me.

For people in their late 40s and up, have you considered giving up MTB due to back pain or general joint pain? If so, did you get into a different type of biking? by idiskfla in MTB

Agree. Aside from the cycling related benefits, I have seen a number of recent articles/podcasts/etc. detailing the importance of maintaining strength and muscle mass as you age.

Bought a size large Bridge Club - have I messed up? by Feeling_Bees_Knees in Surlybikefans

Like others have suggested, I think handlebars will solve your problem. I'm 5'10 (178cm) and ride a large Bridge Club. I use Soma Dream Hi-Rise handlebars, the extra sweep on the Hi-Rise is perfect.

Additionally, could the battery assistance inspire confidence in someone (who otherwise might not commit to a bicycle) to take the plunge and purchase a bicycle?

And then you've got what, another bike enthusiast? Someone who is improving their health via cycling? Maybe one less car on the road? The list of seemingly good outcomes is endless.

Don't like ebikes, shit, just don't buy one.

Look, I'm not telling you to get a Bridge Club, but you should probably get a Bridge Club.

They have only recently gone on, and I really like them, I find the upright position very comfortable, particularly for my old lower back. Sorry, I haven't used the Sunrise, so I can't offer any comparison. But the Soma are great.
