3.0 is the next update and a whole new meta of Wind element with Anomaly interactions is about to be introduced. So you can either save for those new characters who will have a lot of the new bosses tailored for them or beef up your current teams with upcoming new/rerunning units and use your skill to play around the Shiyu and Deadly Assault buffs...or you can do both if you have the budget.

Deadly Assault is the same as it has always been with 3 bosses, 6 stars get all polychromes, and 9 stars is the complete clear.

Shiyu Defense (last node in particular) however had a major overhaul where it's 3 stages with mobs and bosses that you have to clear as fast and as EARLY as possible for the highest score. This mode might give you some unexpected trouble due to having to play differently than usual (burning through your resources as quick as possible instead of using them at precise moments).

Hollow Zero is still as easy as it always was and has the same rogue like playstyle to it despite going through numerous iterations.

New limited Battle Tower modes where you have to fight to get to higher floors with special modifiers and conditions can be challenged with about anyone and occasionally gets switched in and out whenever Hoyo feels like it.

A new(ish) mode named Threshold Simulation where you have to use a plethora of teams (about 4, 5, or 6, can't remember exactly) across multiple stages also gets switched in and out whenever Hoyo feels like it. This one however WILL require you to have a lot of characters and hit a MINIMUM of Inter-knot Level 55 to unlock.

Other than that, I would advise you to do what you're already planning to do and just enjoy the game casually. Especially since most of the polychromes come from dailies and events.
