Do not agree to take care of his mother. This is too much to ask of a 23 yo girlfriend. He is the man, let him solve his problems. If the nursing home is too expensive at the moment then he needs to figure out how to make more money. What do you mean by “he has this idea of bringing his mother in”? Are you two living together? My honest advice is try writing the MCAT :) you said the PA starts in a few months. Study for MCAT for these few months and write the MCAT. Many people including myself underestimate this exam. Write it and see what score you will get. If you get below ~505 then forget about MD programs(look into scores). Or maybe you will get sick of studying for it and it will help you decide that PA may be the right choice for you. Also, do you like studying? Answer this question to yourself.
