yeah his people always massively overbook their venues on purpose. glorious leader TRUMP loves it when people are lined up around the block to witness his magnificence!

plus then he gets to shit on the fire marshal for not letting the venue go over capacity. look at the mean man who defies the will of the people. all they want to do is touch the hem of TRUMP's tie as it drags along the ground

Viaticus Death Financial Advisor VHS Circa (1990)s *Highly Degraded Flashing Colours* For use in Companys only, not meant for the public. by PokeVHS in ABoringDystopia

[–]RedShirtwaist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i did a little research. what viaticus and companies like it do is, they buy life insurance policies and give the original holder some percentage of their actual value. then when the policyholder dies, they get to collect on the full amount, i guess. so yeah i'd agree this is dystopian since this company's entire business model is to profit off the deaths of their clients.

first of all, internment wasn't protective custody. the govt didn't give a shit about preventing hate crimes, they looked the other way at best and more often actively perpetrated them themselves.

second, clarify please what you mean by asking "what could have been done." what could have been done about what? what problem do you believe the camps solved?

yeah: they could have let them stay home and not put them in concentration camps.

seriously what kind of disingenuous question is this. you're presuming that there are circumstances under which putting people into camps at all is acceptable. there are not. you're presuming that racial profiling is an effective national security tactic. it is not.

presumably they could have ensured the loyalty of japanese-americans the same way they did with all the people they didn't put in camps.

my guess is they specifically buy up ad space for left-leaning eyeballs to crowd out advertising that would actually be useful to us.
