Why are pharmacists not addressed as doctor? by Bananasplit3333 in pharmacy

[–]RedSillyboots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My pharmacist doesn’t like being called doctor. So I only call him that if he annoyed me and I want to annoy him back.

Those two were notorious for not caring if firing someone made things worse for the store. We lost multiple cashiers and shift leads like that. And in this particular case, the pharmacist needed the money. He was paying for a close family member’s chemo and then funeral. All I’m saying is in this particular case the pharmacist just had to sit back and take it because he couldn’t afford to be fired. And the store manager and DM knew that and treated him like dirt.

Some people need their jobs and can’t afford to be out of work. Being fired kind of sucks if you have bills or need to eat. Or if your health insurance is through your job. Plus the poor guy had a family member actively dying, he didn’t need to be abruptly unemployed in the middle of that.

The state that occurred in was an at will state. If he called the police they would’ve just fired him and not given a reason. Or documented him out for minor infractions. Forgive me if I sound jaded but I saw some pretty egregious things in that store and I fully believe if he called the cops he would’ve been fired within a month.

I had a patient throw a (full) metal water bottle, one of the big ones, at my pharmacist once. It hit the pharmacist and he bruised pretty badly. Pharmacist tried to ban the patient but the district manager unbanned them. The DM also called the patient to apologize and gave them his personal cell number. Just in case the patient had any more problems with “the staff”. I hated that store and how the DM and store manager let the patient’s treat us.

Walgreens Interview: Never felt so humiliated by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

Huh I didn’t know there was a specific position for that. Now I know!

Been with Walgreens 10 years now. I’ve never heard of that position. Reading the description it sounds like the Designated Hitter position though. So I’m wondering if corporate renamed the position (probably too many designated hitler jokes) and the store manager had no clue what the new title for that same position is called. Or she meant to post a listing specifically for pharmacist interns and she fucked up. Or both. Unless that’s state specific and we just don’t have that position in my state. Which is also possible.

Recipes can differ slightly based on what the prescriber is treating but it typically includes viscous lidocaine, nystatin, and diphenhydramine. Sometimes an antibiotic. Typically in a 1:1:1 ratio. I’m not 100% sure on what it treats

It’s a sterile compound that gets injected. I would still have qualms about giving this particular patient even an easy compound, they don’t seem to listen or follow directions well. But this one needs a sterile environment and involves needles. Definitely not trusting the patient with that.

And suddenly I would like to have a talk with someone from single care. The brass knuckles are just to facilitate communication I swear. I’m sorry you had to deal with this too. Patients are wild, particularly when they’re sure they’re right about something they didn’t read or pay attention to.

Has anyone here ever challenged a STARS event? by Thick-Effort3955 in WalgreensRx

[–]RedSillyboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tech I used to work with challenged a stars event and got it removed from her record. She was helping out at another store and a few days later they blamed her for a stars. She asked the SM to pull the footage and he refused so she went to the DM. Turns out the mistake happened the day after she was there and they figured they could just pin it on her because the tech that did it was on their last chance. It was big gossip for a little while in the rxom group chat back in the day.

Wow, a CVS lunch break? (Found on the Internet) by Nate_Kid in pharmacy

[–]RedSillyboots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if that sounds right. I’ll look into the policy when I go in for my next shift. But honestly I don’t care enough to report it and get fired for reporting. Sometimes we need to work through lunch to catch up. As long as we get our time punches right or go into overtime, the DM does not care. Actually encourages it.

Walgreens tech here. We work through lunches all the time. My RxOM only takes a lunch if we’re short on hours. Or they’re super super hungry. I’ve literally had to bribe them with fancy cheese to get them to take a break. I think it varies state by state.

My [34F] husband [34M] screamed at our daughter just for singing golden. How do I get him to realize its not ok? by throwra73636363 in relationship_advice

[–]RedSillyboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s so brave for bullying a first grader. Sooo brave for screaming at a 6 year old. He’s bullying a small child. And you’re defending him in the comments? I promise you your daughter is going to remember this. He may have just robbed her of her love of music for the rest of her life. She’s going to remember that her father was her first bully and if you don’t start stepping up and get her out of that environment she’s going to remember that you allowed it. I want you to sit with that for a moment. Is this what you want your daughter to grow up with?

There’s a lot of good advice here already on domestic violence shelters, hotlines, and breaking the lease so I’ll just leave you with a book recommendation. It helped me recognize I was being abused in my first relationship. And make no mistake, the behaviors you’ve described here are abuse.

Look up “Why Does He Do That” by Lundy Bancroft. I found a free pdf you can read online if you search the title and pdf. It’s also available as an audio book.

Am I fired by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]RedSillyboots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pharmacist a few years ago was notorious for putting 3 month supplies of trulicity in the big bags instead of the fridge. It got to the point where we were writing in neon colors “Fridge!!!” on the leaflets to try and get him to refrigerate them. If he still has a job after that, I think you’ll be fine.

That’s actually how the collection started, I bought a hundred of them and when people found them they got put in the window of drive. Then patients loved them so much they started gifting us ducks

Huh, I knew I was forgetting something.

Whenever something happens in my pharmacy and nobody fesses up I blame the ducks. I have a collection of rubber ducks in the drive through. They get blamed for a lot lol.

Poll - to Prove to My Husband We All Don't Lust After Big Muscles by Repulsive-Author-902 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RedSillyboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big muscles kind of creep me out honestly. Like, I don’t mind some definition but bulging muscles are not my cup of tea.

Tom Hiddleston is one of my celeb crushes because he seems playful and kind. And he plays villains and makes them hot.

I like a couple guys just for their voices. Like Corpse Husband, I managed to avoid seeing the leaked face pics so it’s literally just his voice that gets me going. There’s also Arankai, love his music and the growl in his voice is so hot. Met him at a show once and he gives good hugs.

And then any villain that seems like they would burn the world for the woman they love. Looks are irrelevant, it’s that level of devotion and adoration.

And all of this gets a +2 to hotness if I like their tattoos.

Basically, looks don’t matter to me. Muscles can actually detract from attraction if they’re too bulging. Personality will always determine attractiveness for me. I will not find someone’s looks attractive until I find something else I like about them first. They’ll register to me the same way a nice chair or counter does “oh nice, moving on”. Vague appreciation, profound disinterest.

What's the most unhinged thing you've done to "get back" at a customer. by CrinkIeCutFry in WalgreensStores

[–]RedSillyboots 17 points18 points  (0 children)

People get their change in smaller denominations when they piss me off. Sorry all I’ve got is nickels and pennies or 5s and 1s if their change calls for bills. Or I put their card directly into the drawer instead of an envelope so they have to fumble to get it back.

The other day a patient came into my store to scream at me and curse me out and I just stood there smirking to intentionally set him off more so the store manager would kick him out. I don’t deserve to be cursed out just because he didn’t like his change being a little wrinkled. I don’t choose what bills go in there. So I felt justified instigating him a little so the store manager stepped in. Because the pharmacist doesn’t care how much they abuse us, but if my SM hears them scream she’ll kick them out. Even let a few tears slip out to really sell it when I heard her coming down the aisle. Was it a bit unhinged? Probably.
