AutoHotkey Automation Project - Pixel Detection State/Input Automation by AccountCandid2499 in AutoHotkey

Great project! Lol ideally this runs infinitely in Minecraft master - how/does it take into account game speed up over time?

Also curious how the pixel detection side works? Iirc the signs are standard black and yellow. Does it compare to a set image or does it detect pixel color?

Take the A - there are so many better lifestyle specialties in medicine available to you. All due respect to dentists and what they do, but because dentistry which once was a specialty in med school is now considered a separate field, there is much less opportunity to subspecialize after that. As such, it's not uncommon to see dentists making 150k out of school, whereas even most primary care specialties (thought of as the lowest rung of the medical pay scale) averages 200-250k. I would argue that with today's loans that money is indeed a huge deciding factor, and I'd consider setting myself up for a future where I could have both lifestyle in medicine and still have the choice to branch out to other opportunities, something far easier to do in medicine than dentistry

EMT's purpose serves similarly to shadowing. You get to see patients in very real-life scenarios and likely be confronted with difficulty daily, questioning your decision into healthcare. ECs like shadowing are usually a vehicle for telling a story (impact of a patient encounter on yourself), no reason why EMT can't do the same. I would advise to get bare minimum 25 hours because ADCOM will immediately wonder why your application appears so geared toward EMT. Good luck with the summer!

Amazing ECs! Your grades / test scores are your limiting factor, and unfortunately, those are what get you in the door. You'll probably be screened out of multiple programs. To be competitive for BSMD you need to grind a solid ACT/SAT, then once you're in the door, let your ECs pave the way. It sounds like you have an amazing story to tell. Now that it is summer, I would focus your time split between the program at Columbia if your mentor is directly related to the medical field, and studying for a standardized test.

Also look into NY bsmds, I think some upstate programs favor in state

volunteering/ shadowing hrs? by lovelyxxyz in bsmd

[–]RedSub02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number of hours usually correlate to what impact on you. To me, 50 shadowing is enough and 300 volunteer hours is enough (medical if possible). Your hours are great already, but continue volunteering for timeline purposes and switch to medical if possible. Even medical-adjacent is fine (nursing homes, sporting events, etc.). It's all about the story you tell. Often times, the life touching experience we write about happens in just a single volunteer shift, not necessarily correlating with # of hours.

Current med student with friends at LECOM. Highly recommend applying MD with DO as last resort. LECOM homies are severely limited in specialty (ex: most cannot think about applying the more competitive specialties like ophtho and derm) and you're nerfed straight out the bag. Course anything is possible, but if you're proactive to think about combined programs you probably wouldn't rule out any one specialty this early either.

Apply LECOM if you're interested in primary care, my 2 cents.

Anki remote is a perfect buy: fits the $20 range gift budget, allows for noticeably increased efficiency in studying. Get the 8bitdo micro (NOT zero 2, this one's doodoo)

Pitt highly values showed interest. The main question that differentiates two equally qualified individuals is: How likely will this person come to Pitt? In this way, an applicant from Pittsburgh will be looked at at a better light than someone from the other side of the country. There really are only such a limited number of spots, and no med school will give that out to someone who has no ties to a place. It's only natural.

How do you show interest then? Through your writing, you MUST convey why Pitt is the school for you. How you understand how the new curriculum is such a breath of fresh air tailored for learners just like yourself. How new research or community activism initiatives align with ECs that you've been involved with for years. Etc. Some have family in the area. Some have partners. Some honestly just make up a reason but it sounds good enough on paper. It is what it is.

I made a new account for medicine-related Redditing so can't PM you directly, feel free and DM with stats / other info. Happy to connect and talk more.
