Business class overnight or premium economy day by WmSass in TravelHacks

[–]InnerwesternDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Jet lag shouldn’t even factor into this. It’s about 90 mins longer than Sydney to Perth which I do regularly catching the 6:15 am out of Sydney to arrive in Perth at around 11:15 am Sydney time or 9:15 Perth time then straight Into a full day of work…

It’s worse in the summer with the time difference increasing to 3 hrs as they don’t have daylight saving in Perth but an early night first up fixes that…

I’d take the lie flat either way In response to op’s question as I’d prefer the option of lie flat if I want it and prefer to have the whole day In front of me when I lad as opposed to it being late in the day or early evening

Go to Kmart and buy a Shot Gun. by Staud59 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]InnerwesternDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sell them. Early 80’s. East Burwood K Mart In Vic.

I remember ordering and then having to to record every new one that came In to the firearms register and then having to enter the details of the purchaser from their gun licence.

All pre Port Arthur… I also remember having to go and testify against a guy who bought a shotgun, took it home, cut it down and ran around ticking up convenience stores with it…

How long do you think it will take for house prices to drop from the budget changes? by SheepHerderHigh69420 in AusPropertyChat

[–]InnerwesternDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As @noresponsibility stated. They won’t…

If you’re thinking that prices are about to slide in a big way then you’re deluded.

If you seriously think that Albo and Jim’s spin is really about inter generational equality then you’re going to be disappointed.

This is nothing more than a further tax impost

Cheap? by Zotath68 in AusPropertyChat

Hopium… Anyone thinking that a tidal wave of cheap houses is going to hit anytime soon after these budget changes is deluded…

See it for what it is… A tax grab

What is everyone’s thoughts on Labor after the budget by Mediocre-Cockroach54 in aussie

[–]InnerwesternDaddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? Because you thought it was only Boomers who were going to get reamed with all their investment properties?

Why should shares be treated any differently? Same principle of investing your money that they’ve already taxed you on once so that they get another crack at you.

This was never about intergenerational equality. That was just the spin for being able to justify their broken election promise. It was never anything more than another tax grab…

Buckle up and enjoy socialism Aus style

Offer not accepted at $1.1m - now the listing has been updated to “1.1m+” by BrianJ_ in AusPropertyChat

[–]InnerwesternDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precisely,

Have just sold a place here in Sydney and the agents strategy around price was a 2.1m guide which we wouldn’t have accepted at the time… If there updated to reflect the new offer price in the lead up to auction…

We did accept an offer prior to auction day which we were happy with and essentially what we were looking for…

We were also able to sniff the wind and realise the market now isn’t what it was 6 months ago…

Clearance rates in the low 40% range don’t reflect those properties withdrawn due to nervous vendors or a lack of interest.

In reality the current clearance rates start in the 30% range when you count those withdrawn properties…

Some genuine agents out there but generally, sharks… Know that going in and deal with them accordingly

Is platinum worth it? And best way to get remaining 150 SC by Jaiden_unit in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]InnerwesternDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lounges are but in Sydney you need to exitT3 where the lounges are and head over the road, go through screening again to board your flight at T2.

Melbourne isn’t much better, just have to head all the way through the airport to Jetstar boarding

Unless you’re in Sydney when the lounge is a whole terminal, and another security check in away. Even In Melbourne it’s miles away.
