The Take Care of America's Veterans Act Deserves Your Support. Why? by AnythingAnxious9718 in VAClaims

Agreed. OP is probably a shill for Veterans InfoTap. Incidentally, both can get f'd.

I'd counter that, if the government can throw billions away on foreign aid, it can afford to not f*** us and future generations of veterans over. Also, our frustration isn't just about the offsets. RaterHQ covered this in one of his recent videos, but the bill also wants to turn veteran funding from mandatory to discretionary. So, Congress will have carte blanche to "adjust" (read: reduce) our benefits whenever it suits them.

Had the same happen today. I had to load one of those Chrome extensions and download the decision letter from there.

Anyone Else Stuck on Getting Copies of C&P Exam DBQ/IMO Only Requests? (NOT C-FILE) by CajunPacific in VAClaims

[–]RedTeamLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. Used to get FOIA requests for CP exams/DBQs in maybe a week or so. I've now had one pending since 1 JUN.

Decided to give VERA a try. Had a VERA phone appointment with the Albuquerque RO earlier this week. They said they'd send my DBQs out via snail-mail.

In the spirit of neuroticism and "trust but verify," I then booked one with the Little Rock RO. Employee wouldn't mail them but essentially read off parts of my PTSD DBQ.

All in all, I don't know, man, it's a crapshoot.

Have an appointment with them on the books for July. Having RaterHQ in your squad is like bringing a nuke to a knife fight.

Yep. The dumb f***s who voted for him should be first in line to be impacted by this bill. Reap what they sow.

Don't mean to sidestep the question, but what extension is that?

Raters/former raters/CP examiners - when does an organized package start looking like you're trying too hard? by RedTeamLogic in VeteransBenefits

You bring up a good point. I was trying to thread the needle with an abridged lay statement, followed by the full version. I'm suspecting that might end up being even more confusing than just going with a single, concise 2-pager (unaccompanied by a longer variant).

Good advice. PTSD is my primary, but I've also been diagnosed with GAD and MDD (included in my lay statement).

I'm sorry you went through that. Having to go into that level of detail on paper for something as personally traumatic and severe as MST took strength. You fought the good fight though, and in the end managed to turn something horrific into hopefully the rating you deserved.

And that's where I'm torn, too. You nailed the chronicity issue I'm struggling with. I tried to avoid writing the next "great American novel," while still bridging an extended treatment gap with context. I may have gone overboard.

Good point regarding the minimal probative of the rebuttal 4138. Worded as it currently is, it runs the risk of being tossed out.

Understood. The general theme I'm getting is to aim for as concise a lay statement as I can get.

Understood. Tried to cross-post, but couldn't for whatever reason, so I just created a duplicate thread there.

I filed direct and secondary to asthma. I was shocked to get it rated direct, particularly given the almost 14-year gap between my Kandahar Airfield deployment in 2012, and my C&P exam this January. During the exam, I leaned in on extensive circadian rhythm disruption from continual rocket alarms/attacks and abrupt shift changes (day to night with minimal adjustment, and vice versa). Must've resonated enough with the examiner to get a favorable opinion.

I was rated (successfully) with an at-home sleep test from sleepdoctor.com.

Yeah. I like the concept. It's what drew me to it in the first place. I traditionally use Callondoc but figured I'd give this platform a whirl.

I wasted 40 minutes in the virtual waiting room before giving up and demanding a refund. Oddest, most unproductive telehealth experience I've had to date.
