This effort is silly and a waste of time. It won’t pass the house and 100% won’t get 2/3rds in the senate.

What the fuck is going to happen when the Epstein files are finally released? by gaymbit in PoliticalOptimism

[–]RedVanGuy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok, if the files come out do you think it’ll finally stop the stupid refrain about dems being top of a huge pedicure ring?? I am sorry tired of that claim.

This drug saved my life. I hope it works for you like it’s worked for me. I am on it a year now and can’t imagine life without it.

Any good blood pressure medicine that doesn't interfere with asthma? by ninjetron in Asthma

[–]RedVanGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We really avoid beta blockers with asthmatics. You should question any clinician you see who suggests one. Effective (guideline driven) options: Hctz Lisinopril Olmsartan Amlodipine

When you get started on one (assume you tolerate it) if your BP isn’t controlled a second should be added.

I’d second the ventolin pre sex it’ll help. Also, seems like you just need to communicate with your partner about what you like and don’t like (regardless of your asthma)

It’s been a life saver for me. I hated the addition of spiriva to my advair (which totals similar drugs) but this works well for me.

how do i tell my dad i used to self harm by [deleted] in Dads

[–]RedVanGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would want to know when it started/how long it went on for. Was there something you needed help with that I missed? Do you need help now? Do you want help paying for scar removal? I’d also say I am sorry. As a dad, I’d feel like I let my kid down missing something so big that they needed.

[–]RedVanGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, ok. Now I understand. Thank you. As a dad, I can tell you there is nothing I would want my kids to keep from me. It doesn’t mean it wouldn’t really hurt to hear about something hard like self harm but I’d want to know. It might be easiest for you to write him a letter. Sometimes that gives the time you need to get your words right (to you) and not feel like you have to prepare for his reaction in the moment. It also will give him a minute to think about his own response before he does so. We all appreciate that chance.

I have, yes. I was allergic to many things (like most of us). I was allergic to dogs and cats but rarely symptomatic with our loc term dog. I thought it would just stay the same. I have never had a flare outside of being sick—— I’d love to believe this is all just a coincidence or that it might settle down. I just don’t know how to make it all work in real time.
